    POSITION SUMMARY:

    This position works under the direction of the assigned Product Manager in support of product development activities.
    - Assists with the research and documentation of product requirements
    - Development of product technical documentation
    - Development and implementation of product test plans
    - Internal and client training programs
    - Support of alpha and beta product releases

    SoftID
    SCC Soft Computer's SoftID, the electronic positive patient tracking solution, provides phlebotomists and nurses with an efficient, mobile, and dependable means of verifying patient identification prior to blood collection.

    SoftID.Tx
    SoftID.Tx, the positive patient identification system from SCC Soft Computer, is a comprehensive system used to manage the transfer of transfusion-related data from the patient's bedside to SCC's SoftBank system, SoftID.Tx enables users to collect transfusion-related data, assign a blood product to a courier, and verify that the product selected for transfusion is the same product assigned to the patient in SoftBank.

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Provide domain expertise for enhancing existing products and developing new products.

    Creates Use Cases and functional/nonfunctional requirements documents for the purpose of initiating programming to enhance client requirements.

    Research industry standards and access current needs in order to remain competitive and to ensure basic product functionality.

    Provides for the initial analysis for alpha product validation to ensure the product meets the basis product functionality.

    Facilitates product knowledge transfer to Implementation, Client Support and Sales & Marketing staff via documentation and training.

    Executes scenarios to test the product before release for availability.

    Responsible for training beta clients, monitoring beta testing process, supporting clients through the beta testing phase and go-live process. Documents all comments and issues and provide detail analyzes of beta product validation.

    Complies with all company SOP's as they apply to the department.

    Provides counsel and training to overseas offices regarding functionality, development and validation of product as well as shadowing to offsite facilities.

    Responsible for providing Technical Writers with up to date information for inclusion in technical documentation. Reviews all technical documentation prior to general release.

    Responsible for analyzing and processing support tasks according to Product Change Control (PCC) procedures.

    Perform hazard analysis according to FMEA.

    Responsible for monitoring project plans to ensure timely release of product in order to meet client deadlines.

    Responsible for monitoring and system testing of client database in order to maintain integrity of the product.

    May also assist with sales related activities including product demonstrations and RFP support.


    JOB SPECIFICATIONS:

    Education and Experience Required:

    The level of education required for this position varies within the different products. An Associate degree in the related field is preferred, but relevant experience may be substituted for the degree. Broad experience and understanding of the applicable healthcare discipline is highly desirable. The person in this position must have experience with multiple software applications including MS Office products.

    Skills Required:

    • Should have the ability to work independently while performing effectively in a team environment.
    • The ability to define priorities and respond accordingly in a rapidly changing environment.
    • Must possess both analytical and problem solving skills.
    • Exceptional organizational and interpersonal skills.
    • Must possess excellent verbal communication skills.
    • Must be very detailed oriented.
    • Must have excellent writing and documentation skills.
    SoftID
    • Experience or a thorough understanding of phlebotomy workflows is a plus.
    • Experience in medical/hospital lab environment is a plus.
    • Should have good technical writing skills.
    • Should be familiar with Microsoft Word and Excel applications.
    • Experience with mobile operating systems Android, IOS is a plus.
    • Unix/AIX experience is a plus

    • Experience or a thorough understanding of Blood Transfusion Administration is a plus

    Travel Required:
    As needed in support of sales activities, beta clients, vendor shows and conferences.
