Insurance Payment Processing Specialist
Supervisory Responsibility:
None
In This Role, You Will
Be responsible for tracking insurance payments and reconciling general ledger accounts. You will correspond with insurance companies to ensure timely payments to and from the appropriate accounts. As the Insurance Processing Specialist, you will process claims, claim payments, and cancellation of policies.
Responsibilities:
- Processes corrections provided by insurance companies each month.
- Creates and provides monthly reports for all insurance companies.
- Submits monthly ACH/check requests for Accounts Payable.
- Ensures general ledger accounts and reported monies owed are equivalent. Follows up with appropriate parties when discrepancies are found.
- Processes claim payments for multiple states.
- May perform additional functions depending on market demand and staffing in order to provide consistent quality customer service.
Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Strong organizational skills to include prioritization and attention to detail.
- Strong computer knowledge.
- Demonstrates exceptional interpersonal/service skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Some college.
- One (1) to three (3) years of experience; college credits may substitute years of experience.
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit for extended periods; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.
