Hello there!

FirstPro is looking for a skilled Senior Application Support Engineer to join their team in Boston, MA. This role centers around maintaining the company's internal applications and data/ETL pipelines. Responsibilities

Monitor and manage job workflows and system integrations
Handle access and user requests for intricate systems
Collaborate with internal and external partners to resolve production support issues
Manage major and minor system incidents
Keep an eye on and prioritize the support queue
Document incident, request, and problem statuses and resolutions
Collect data for audit and regulatory purposes
Work closely with app development teams to provide input for application enhancements
Support system updates and application lifecycle processes
Take part in company-wide technology projects
Investigate and address data queries
Assist with system access certifications
Help with basic reporting and system automation
Support software release activities
Contribute to business continuity and disaster recovery planning and testing

Requirements

5-10 years of experience in application support or a similar technical role
Proficiency in Windows Desktop and Server environments
Intermediate skills in Microsoft SQL
Familiarity with automated job scheduler tools like ActiveBatch
Experience in 24x7 operations and collaboration with global teams
Knowledge of ITIL framework and handling Major Incidents and Problems
Experience with data pipelines and ETL jobs (e.g., SSIS)
Self-motivated with a proactive approach to problem-solving
Excellent communication abilities
Basic to intermediate knowledge of scripting languages such as Python, VBscript, and PowerShell
Experience with BI tools such as Cognos or Tableau is advantageous
Experience in managing applications on cloud platforms like SnowFlake, AWS, MS Azure is a plus
