    Assistant Controller - Honolulu,

    Oahu Location:
    Honolulu, HI Salary: $90,000 Annually

    Position Summary / Primary Purpose:


    Under the supervision of the Corporate Controller, this role plays a critical role in managing the financial operations, overseeing accounting processes, analyzing financial reporting, and ensuring GAAP compliance.

    This is a full-time, in-office position.


    Responsibilities:
    Assist the Corporate Controller in overseeing day-to-day accounting operations.

    Manage month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of financial statements.

    Conduct variance analysis, provide insights into financial performance, and identify areas for improvement.

    Supervise on-site and remote accounting staff, providing guidance and fostering teamwork.

    Develop, document, and maintain internal processes and procedures, providing training as needed.

    Develop and maintain financial models and forecasts to support decision-making and budgeting.

    Monitor cash flow, identify risks, and implement controls.

    Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and internal policies.

    Assist in preparing annual budgets and periodic forecasts, collaborating with department heads.

    Stay updated on industry trends and recommend process improvements.


    Qualifications:
    Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or CMA preferred.

    Minimum 5 years of accounting experience, with 3 years in contract and/or construction accounting.

    Strong knowledge of GAAP and contract/construction industry accounting standards.

    Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, or equivalent.

    Advanced Excel skills for financial modeling and analysis.

    Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

    Proven leadership abilities and experience managing accounting staff.

    Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and integrity.

    Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage priorities effectively.

    Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

    Pay:
    Starting at $90,000 annually, depending on experience.
