    JOB SUMMARY

    The District Sales Manager (DSM) position requires exceptional management of sales performance among Sales Consultants (SCs). The role is accountable for fostering a performance-driven culture, coaching and enhancing the skills of their sales consultants to achieve profitable planned case and GP growth.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Manage the performance and development of Sales Consultants (SCs) within the district.
    • Provide one-on-one coaching and guidance by conducting an average of 3-5 SC work sessions per week.
    • Lead Friday district meetings aimed at educating, motivating, and ultimately instigating key behavior changes to boost sales.
    • Oversee and direct Customer Engagement efforts by empowering district SCs to offer Sysco customers a range of service channel options (e.g., Technology enablers, value-added services, and team selling).
    • Exhibit a mindset of continual improvement regarding technology, sales skills, soft skills, and product knowledge.
    • Utilize Sales Support resources and tools effectively to optimize the consultative time of the SC.
    • Leverage our CRM system in managing SCs' sales planning, prospecting, and daily customer engagement, while ensuring productive utilization of Sysco 360 among all SCs.
    • Achieve Sysco brand results and directly oversee conversion opportunities within the district.
    • Advocate for and implement all national campaigns and promotions.
    • Take responsibility for providing coaching, training, and prompt feedback to enhance sales consultant development of consultative selling skills following 'The Sysco Way to Sell'.
    • Make full use of the CMP and QPP Processes to coach the performance of all sales colleagues in the district.
    • Manage territory planning and execution efficiently.
    • Prioritize establishing relationships with top customers and high-value prospects.
    • Champion company initiatives and implement center-led strategies within the district.
    • Handle additional sales management responsibilities including operational duties and customer relationship management.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    Education

    • High School diploma required.
    • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., business administration) or equivalent industry experience is a plus.

    Experience

    • Minimum of 2 years' experience in successfully driving profitable sales in the foodservice industry.
    • Preferred to have 5+ years of foodservice sales experience in the industry.

    • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate with various stakeholders.
    • Capable of extracting insights through probing questions and collaborative problem-solving.
    • Exceptional organizational and project management abilities, including managing multiple initiatives independently.
    • Thrives in a fast-paced work environment.
    • Proficient in utilizing Sysco's proprietary Customer Relationship Management (CRM) tool for sales growth planning and forecasting.
    • Demonstrates expertise in consultative selling, marketing principles, prospecting, networking, coaching, and negotiations.
    • Efficiently coaches, counsels, trains, and guides associates.
    • Able to supervise and motivate others effectively.
    • Skilled in report writing and business correspondence.
    • Ability to develop new business, retain existing accounts, and minimize lost business to achieve profitable sales growth and special objectives in the assigned territory.
