Position OverviewWe are searching for a self-motivated lipid nanoparticle (LNP) formulations expert to join our stealth startup As we are a young startup biotech, we are looking for someone who takes initiative, thinks deeply about nucleic acid delivery and LNP formulations, and wants to wear many hats to push forward multiple exciting projects.
Additionally, this associate will work together with molecular biologists and protein engineers to study the interaction between our novel components and LNP formulations.
We are a stealth-stage biotech company developing new non-viral delivery vehicles to bring genetic medicines efficiently into cells in tissues in which they are needed.
This stealth mode company is incubated by Foresite Labs, which focuses on applying the tools of data science to create companies in healthcare that connect true changes in patient outcomes to all of the activities that are needed to develop, design and deploy therapeutics.
Primary Roles and ResponsibilitiesDesign, plan, and execute LNP formulations that utilize our novel components for a variety of payloadsHelp establish routine and novel LNP characterization assays to enable reproducible and effective LNP formulationDesign, plan, and execute routine and novel in vitro assays to evaluate the performance of our novel formulationsWork with a team of scientists on diverse molecular and cell biology experiments to study exciting mechanisms involved in non-viral deliveryCollaborate with a team of scientists to advance novel formulations through animal experiments to enable clinical applicationsTake on diverse laboratory and operational roles flexibly as neededEfficiently document and communicate results in a clear and concise manner to the broader scientific teamRecommended QualificationsBS/MS in life sciences or engineering with 1-3 years of experience in the biotechnology or pharmaceutical industryStrong experience in LNP formulation with microfluidic methods (e.g., Precision Nanosystems instruments)Familiarity with common LNP characterization techniques desiredPrevious experience with cell culture and in vitro LNP evaluation a plusExperience with a scientific programming language (Python, R, or Matlab) is a plusExperience with standard molecular biology methods a plus:
