General Summary: Theprogram coordinator assists the dean for Humanities, Mathematics, and SocialSciences to support the Film programs and discipline across the college. This includes working with the faculty to promote the program internally andexternally, assess student learning, keep the curriculum current, consult oncourse schedule, and interact with the Advisory Committee as appropriate.

Job Duties:

Program promotion throughpresentations and coordination of faculty participation in admissions,registrations, and recruitment events.
Confer with thedepartment heads and appropriate faculty to create the course schedule andselect books/materials each semester.
Assist department headsin hiring of adjuncts and staffing of FLM courses.
Coordinate with faculty onFilm program reviews and mid-point reviews for FLM.
Coordinate assessment,review results, facilitate discussion among discipline faculty, and assistwith implementing resulting recommendations in accordance of Middle Statesrequirements.
Coordinate and meet withthe Advisory Committee for the program and assist with implementing Committeerecommended projects.
If appropriate, respond,in consultation with the dean, to requests from external agencies relatedto offering programming in the discipline off-campus.
Assist Film faculty andstudents in preparing campus-based and college-wide student film screeningsand other events.
Coordinate and approvefilming requests and equipment check out on site and off campus.
Assess status of equipment and facilities across the collegeto determine needed upkeep, improvements, and resources in order to servestudent learning; communicate needs to dean/provost and executive directorsof administration as appropriate.
Hold discipline meeting with faculty at least once in Fall andonce in Spring semester.
Facilitate strategic planning for the programs/discipline asis appropriate.
Advise/support film Educational Technicians across the collegeas needed.
Communicate to the dean in writing accomplishments of facultyand students in FLM as well as program/discipline needs and challenges (inform of several regular and/or one annual program report).

Clearance:Current criminal record/child abuse clearances will be required if offered the position and in order to be employed at the College. The three clearances are Pennsylvania Child Abuse History Clearance, Pennsylvania State Police Criminal Records Check, and Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI) Criminal Background Check. The College has provided instructions on how to obtain these clearances and are available here.
