    Job Description: Support Engineer III

    Duration: 7 months, with potential for conversion or extension

    Location: Remote

    Pay Range: $30/hr. - $34/hr.

    Schedule:

  • 8am-4pm EST, Sunday-Thursday or
  • 8am-4pm EST, Tuesday-Saturday
    Note: The shift hours are the same for weekends as they are for weekdays. There will be no rotation for weekends; the shifts are permanently assigned as listed above.

    Our client is looking for a Support Engineer III. In this role, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of desktop computers, peripherals, software, and related systems. Responsibilities include the timely resolution of issues affecting hardware, software, and user permissions, as well as routine hardware maintenance.

    Top 3 Required Skills:

    1. Experience with server administration and monitoring.
    2. SQL/Linux and command line script writing, with Ubuntu experience as a plus.
    3. Interest in robotics.
    4. 7+ years of relevant work experience.
    Responsibilities:

  • Install, maintain, and troubleshoot desktop computers, peripherals, software, and related systems.
  • Resolve issues affecting hardware, software, and user permissions in a timely manner.
  • Perform routine hardware maintenance.
  • Support Windows XP/7 and Server operating systems in a managed desktop environment.
  • Provide support for Macintosh OS X (10.4 and upwards) and basic user-level Linux/UNIX systems (Red Hat preferable).
  • Maintain solid knowledge of networks, including Ethernet, TCP/IP, and Windows Server networking.
  • Work independently with minimal supervision, maintaining a customer focus and proactive approach.
  • Communicate effectively with good verbal and written skills.
  • Demonstrate attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Insist on the highest standards for self and others.
    Qualifications:

  • Strong server administration, monitoring, and command line script writing.
  • Understanding of robotic systems as a whole is a plus.
  • AWS architect or practitioner certifications are a plus.
  • SQL query skills are a plus.
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience with server administration and monitoring.
  • Interest in robotics is a plus.
  • Experience with C++, Java, and Ubuntu is a plus.
  • Detailed knowledge of basic computer concepts, PC hardware and software troubleshooting, and workstation (desktop/laptop) hardware.
  • Microsoft MCSA/MCSE is desirable.
  • Additional vendor administrator-level certifications, especially Apple ACMT/ACSP and Cisco CCNA, are preferred.
  • A BS degree in computer science or a combination of education and relevant experience is a plus but not required.
