They are hiring a Product Development Engineer to oversee the daily functions and operations of their packaging and production line.

    The Product Development Engineer is pivotal in applying multidisciplinary scientific and engineering fundamentals to spearhead initiatives in product innovation, enhancement, and manufacturing processes. This role is instrumental in steering projects from the ideation stage to market readiness, ensuring seamless collaboration across various departments to achieve project objectives and milestones.

    Focus:

    • Initiate exploratory research to discover innovative delivery mechanisms for confectionary items, nutritional supplements, and medicinal compounds.
    • Design and prototype new products at the experimental stage, focusing on inventive solutions.
    • Coordinate project timelines, deliverables, and resource allocation with teams from Manufacturing, Quality Management, Procurement, and Branding to ensure alignment with the innovation segment of product launch plans and organizational communication.
    • Execute factory tests and the introduction of new products, overseeing the coordination of efforts across Manufacturing, Quality Management, Procurement, and Branding departments.
    • Develop and maintain critical documentation to guarantee the uniform production of new offerings, encompassing recipe formulations, manufacturing directives, validation procedures, and stability assessments. Collaborate with Quality Management to confirm that all product-related documents are accurately authored, stored, and sanctioned for market production.
    • Compile and submit detailed technical reports to the leadership team, maintaining meticulous records of all laboratory and test activities. Present project updates or technical findings to internal or external stakeholders as required.
    • Stay informed about advancements in key technological areas such as taste, color, texture, and nutritional enhancements through research, professional gatherings, and industry connections.
    • Innovate and refine processes and systems for food creation, quality assurance, packaging, and distribution, with a focus on enhancing food attributes like taste, color, texture, and nutritional content.
    • Engage with process engineers, taste specialists, packaging designers, and branding teams to troubleshoot issues and brainstorm new concepts.

    Skill Set:

    • Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Chemical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or a related discipline.
    • At least 3 years of experience in product innovation or food science engineering.
    • Proficient in project management principles.
    • Demonstrates versatility by excelling in collaborative team environments as well as in independent roles, backed by strong analytical and detail-oriented skills.
    • Possesses exceptional organizational abilities, capable of efficiently managing time and multitasking in fast-paced settings while adapting to changing workflows and contexts.
    • Upholds a high standard of professionalism and creativity, fostering respectful interactions and innovative problem-solving approaches.
    • Competent in applying complex mathematical concepts and statistical analyses to product development tasks.
    • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate scientific and technical information clearly to a variety of audiences.
    • Master's degree in a pertinent field preferred.
    • Background in formulating and bringing to market dietary supplements and/or pharmaceutical products.
    • Experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) tools, and statistical analysis software, with strong data interpretation skills.
    • Familiarity with Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) standards.
    • Experience interacting with regulatory authorities such as the FDA and NSF.
