    Department: Engineering

    Position Title: Process Tooling Development Engineer

    Position Reports To: Director of Commercialization

    Overview: This job is for a Process Tooling Development Engineer at our company. The main role involves overseeing the delivery of new products and the launch of corresponding tooling. The engineer will lead efforts to commercialize new products meeting customer needs, provide training on new tooling, and offer engineering support for production tooling. The goal is to ensure timely completion within budget while effectively managing project documentation.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Launch new tooling to the production group
    • Develop project timelines and identify critical deliverables
    • Support Product Design and Development with testing procedures
    • Work cross-functionally to deliver production methods
    • Assist in product development trials
    • Provide SOP and process engineering support
    • Offer direction for automation and operational improvements
    • Participate in troubleshooting of production tooling
    • Support quality assurance
    • Available for up to 25% travel
    • Demonstrate ability to work independently
    • Other duties as needed

    Requirements

    • Ability to develop project structure, scope, and timelines
    • Provide guidance to project teams
    • Establish relationships with customers
    • Excellent mechanical aptitude
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
    • Apply engineering principles to tool design
    • Knowledge of plastic thermoforming and equipment
    • Qualifications:
    • BS in Engineering or equivalent
    • Experience in project management
    • Knowledge of Plastics Industry and machining preferred
    • Proficiency in CAD software and MS Office applications
    • Understanding of plastic properties and behaviors
