- Review refugee cash assistance request from case managers and enter in the web invoicing system for processing
- Communicate with finance team about printing checks for clients
- Process invoices, verify accuracy, and prepare payments.
- Monitor and reconcile accounts payable and receivable transactions.
- Assist in the preparation and monitoring of the organization's budget.
- Track and report on budget variances.
- Maintain organized and up-to-date financial records on financial spreadsheet
- Ensure compliance with accounting policies and procedures.
- Reconcile monthly bank statements and resolve any discrepancies.
- Monitor and report on cash flow activities.
- Generate and analyze financial reports as required by management.
- Prepare reports for external stakeholders, including funders and auditors.
- Ensure compliance with program guidelines and reporting requirements.
- Assist in the preparation for audits and provide necessary documentation.
- Attend meetings and training sessions to stay updated on program changes and requirements.
- Work closely with Case Management team and Finance department to gather financial information and support cross-functional initiatives.
- Provide financial information and reports to assist decision-making processes.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
- Previous experience in finance or accounting roles is preferred.
- Strong proficiency in Excel, financial software and Microsoft Office applications.
- Knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Sensitivity to the cultural diversity of the refugee population.
