Posting Summary
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Program Manager for
NJMS -Surgery.
The primary purpose of the Program Manager position is to manage all aspects of the Department of Surgery's faculty affairs including the faculty appointments, credentialing and recruitment process.
Monitor the departmental research budget. Assist in monitoring the department financial functions. Take the lead in various short and long term projects as needed.Among the key duties of this position are the following:
Serves as primary administrative contact for assigned divisions, plus Research and Education
Manages assigned Department of Surgery administrative staff, including assignments, cross-coverage, time off leaves, etc.
Oversees the credentialing process for new faculty, mid-level providers,(full time, part time, and per diem) and volunteers.
Acts as the liaison between the Department of Surgery and the Faculty Affairs for recruiting, retention, onboarding, promotion and all faculty actions.
Manages the faculty recruitment process, which includes use of the Faculty AffairsFACTS
system; processing
CIG
position proposals, business plans, offer letters; etc.
Attends and participates in monthly Leadership Council Meetings and the quarterly Faculty Meetings.
Communicates with the Department of Surgery Chair, Division Chiefs and faculty collaborating in operations and strategic planning for division.
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, or a related field
PLUS
three (3) year experience involving the review, analysis and evaluation of financial, organizational, and/or administrative practices in a business or government agen cy required.
Equivalent education, experience, and/or training may be substituted for the degree requirements.
Certifications/Licenses
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Must be proficient in computer applications, including Oracle, PeopleSoft, Tableau, MS Office products, MS Outlook, and web-based programs.
Must be detail oriented, have excellent organizational skills, hold self accountable to high standards of professional excellence, and be able to maximize resources on a continued basis.
Must have excellent interpersonal/human relations skills, excellent verbal and written communication skills, the ability to maintain records and files.Preferred Qualifications
