    $140K - $170K


    Location:
    Lewisville, TX and Hybrid (Two Days a Week WFH)

    The Accounting Manager is responsible for the general accounting and financial reporting process. This includes supervision, performing the monthly accounting close, providing requisite financial


    reporting to parent company, determining impacts of technical accounting issues and leading any ensuing implementation efforts, managing the audit function/coordinating all audit relate items with the external auditors and creating the company's audited financial statements.


    PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES


    • Manage the monthly accounting close process to create financial statements in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (US GAAP)
    • Supervise the Accountant/review Accountant's work in managing the accounting function
    • Review accounting policies for ensuring compliance with parent company policies (this is done in concert with the rest of the Sammons Enterprises GAAP accounting community)
    • Work with Finance Manager to efficiently develop internal company reports that support company business needs and achievement of objectives (i.e., "Management Reporting")
    • Supply the required financial information to parent company (balance sheet, income statement, cash flow statement, reserve schedules, footnote data, other information)
    • Lead the company's process on identifying technical accounting issues and implementing appropriate accounting practices
    • Manage the annual audit of the company performed by external auditors
    • Ensure proper internal financial controls are developed, documented and adhered to
    • Maintain knowledge of current accounting topics and communicate key developments to the CFO
    • Assist in the research, design and implementation of new accounting processes and procedures
    • Perform other related duties as needed

    Education and Experience


    • Bachelor's degree, preferably in accounting, Master's degree preferred
    • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) required
    • 5+ years' experience in roles with increasing responsibility in either public accounting or a combination of public/industry
    • Proficient in developing/working with financial statements, including the footnotes to the financial statements
    • Demonstrated experience with external audit function (either as auditor or client)
    • Demonstrated experience with ASC 842 Leases (Lease identification, accounting, disclosure)
    • Netsuite or similar ERP/GL experience preferred
    • Workiva experience a plus
    • Proficient with MS Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) Skills & Competencies
    • Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
    • Ability to prioritize workload, multi-task and confidently perform in a fast-paced environment
    • Ability to uphold strict level of confidentiality
    • Ability to work independently without close supervision
    • Demonstrated ability to analyze complex accounting problems, apply strategies for implementation and communicate results with stakeholders
    • Experience conducting technical accounting research across a broad array of research sources of authoritative literature

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS


    • Working conditions are normal for an office environment.
    • Frequent use of hands to manipulate the keyboard, telephone, files and other equipment.
    • Standing, walking, lifting, twisting and bending on a frequent basis.
    • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
