    The Client Account Specialist is responsible for supporting Client Account Managers and Supervisors in client billing.

    This position is fully remote, but candidates must reside in DC Metro (VA/DC/MD), Boston Metro, New York City Metro, or Chicago Metro areas.

    Compensation will be based on experience and location.

    Responsibilities:

    • Manage all billing tasks for assigned attorneys: distribution, logging, preparation, processing, and mailing of client billing
    • Provide timely and precise support to attorneys, clients, and staff in resolving complex billing issues through billing analysis/adjustments
    • Handle all inquiries related to past and present billing
    • Orient and train new billing attorneys, when needed
    • Organize and submit previous month's billing for electronic scanning
    • Evaluate and sum up engagement letters related to special financial agreements
    • Establish and supervise special fee and cost rate structures
    • Maintain client and matter database effectively
    • Perform other assigned duties as necessary

    Skills & Experience

    Required:

    • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, iManage, and other relevant firm applications after training
    • Intermediate/advanced Excel skills
    • Willingness to work overtime as needed
    • Previous exposure to billing principles, accounting, billing rates, and client maintenance procedures

    Preferred:

    • Associate or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
    • Prior experience in a law firm setting
    • Experience with 3E and electronic billing
    • 10-key proficiency

    Competencies

    • Effective at nurturing and fostering relationships with attorneys and clients
    • Strong organizational, communication (verbal and listening), and writing abilities
    • Capable of working autonomously and meeting deadlines
    • Excellent in follow-up, accuracy, initiative, and mathematical skills
    • Skilled at collaborating and interacting with team members and colleagues
