    Job Title: VCUarts Admissions Counselor

    Company: VCUarts Undergraduate Admissions


    The VCUarts Undergraduate Admissions team is looking for an Admissions Counselor to attract new undergraduate students, manage a full travel schedule, and support enrollment goals of the school and university.

    The ideal candidate should have a passion for the arts and a drive to guide students towards higher education. They should be ready to travel extensively, locally and nationally, and thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.


    Responsibilities:

    • Actively recruit and counsel prospective students and parents, attend national portfolio days, college fairs, and other events
    • Establish and maintain relationships with teachers, counselors, and academic professionals
    • Review student portfolios, provide feedback, and conduct information sessions
    • Handle communication with prospective students and maintain records
    • Assist with research, trends, and other assigned duties

    Requirements:

    • Bachelor's degree preferred
    • Experience discussing academic programs enthusiastically
    • Strong customer service skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
    • Ability to prioritize, solve problems independently, and meet deadlines
    • Previous experience in admissions or art/design field
    • Administrative and technical skills
    • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Experience in higher education, admissions, or recruitment
    • Knowledge of VCUarts programs
    • Customer service and public speaking experience
    • Experience with specific software

    Position Details:

    • Part-time, year-round role with varying activity levels
    • Extensive travel required
    • Weekend and evening work expected
    • Expected base location in Richmond, VA

    Counselor Pay: $19.00/hour
