Position SummaryThe Accounts Payable Manager is responsible for overseeing the full-cycle accounts payable function, ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices, payments, and expense reports.
This role leads a team of AP professionals, including offshore resources, and is responsible for driving process improvements, maintaining strong internal controls, and ensuring compliance with company policies and accounting standards.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with strong operational expertise and at least five years of management experience.Key Responsibilities
Oversee the end-to-end accounts payable process, including invoice intake, coding, approvals, payment processing, and vendor reconciliations
Manage and mentor onshore and offshore AP teams, providing direction, performance management, and ongoing development
Serve as the primary liaison between internal stakeholders and offshore teams to ensure alignment, efficiency, and service level expectations are met
Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and productivity
Ensure compliance with internal controls, company policies, and regulatory requirements
Lead month-end close activities related to accounts payable, including accruals and reporting
Partner with Finance and Accounting leadership to support audits and provide required documentation
Identify opportunities to streamline processes, improve automation, and enhance system utilization
Oversee vendor relationships and resolve escalated issues in a professional and timely manner
Support implementation of new systems, tools, or process enhancements as needed
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
7+ years of progressive accounts payable experience
Minimum of 5 years of management experience, including experience managing offshore teams
Strong understanding of GAAP and internal control best practices
Experience working with ERP systems and AP automation tools
Demonstrated ability to lead distributed teams across multiple time zones
Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Skills
Experience in a shared services or high-volume transaction environment
Background in process improvement and workflow optimization
Advanced Excel skills
