- Deep understanding of and commitment to Catholic teachings, values, and social justice principles.
- Bachelor's degree in Education, History, Religious Studies, or related field (Master's degree preferred).
- Valid teaching credential or certification, with eligibility for licensure in the state of Texas.
- Prior teaching experience in an inner-city school setting, preferably with middle school students.
- Meets the minimum requirements for teaching field as set forth by the Diocese and TCCED
- Strong classroom management skills and ability to establish a positive and structured learning environment, even in challenging circumstances.
- Empathy, patience, and resilience in working with students facing adversity, trauma, or other barriers to learning.
- Knowledge of effective instructional strategies for teaching history and religion to diverse learners, including those with learning differences.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills, with a focus on building relationships and partnerships with students, families, and colleagues.
- Willingness to participate in ongoing professional development and reflective practice to continually improve teaching effectiveness and meet the evolving needs of our student population.

Location: St. George Catholic School
General Position Summary: We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Middle School History and Religion Teacher to join our inner-city Catholic school community. The Teacher fulfills the mission of the Catholic school by planning, guiding, and evaluating the learning process of the students in the Catholic school for whom the teacher is responsible within the framework of the school's philosophy, organization, and curriculum. The Teacher has decision making responsibilities within essential job functions, in keeping with school policies. The ideal candidate will be an actively practicing Catholic committed to our School's Mission, shaping compassionate, knowledgeable, and Christ-centered individuals. The candidate will possess the skills and empathy to meet the diverse needs of our student population with a desire to make a positive impact in their lives. The position is hired and evaluated by the principal.
