Description
Under supervision, you'll engage in technical tasks vital for ASU's security. This includes installing, maintaining, repairing, and testing access control systems, CCTV, and related hardware. Your responsibilities extend to handling data cable and wiring, electronic door locks, access card readers, and more. Plus, you'll play a crucial role in camera installation and upkeep, enhancing ASU's overall security infrastructure.

Essential Duties

  • Work across campus to maintain security hardware with meticulous attention to detail. Foster strong relationships with internal staff, faculty, and external customers, ensuring seamless collaboration. Demonstrate expertise in conducting prework site inspections and safety assessments, prioritizing the wellbeing of all involved. Take charge of installing and relocating security systems equipment, showcasing your technical understanding and ability to work autonomously. Utilize your analytical skills to conduct research and analyze test measurements, contributing to the design of cuttingedge security systems within ASU Facilities. Your role also involves evaluating current systems and suggesting enhancements or replacements for continuous improvement. Embrace flexibility by taking on additional duties as needed, demonstrating your commitment to excellence in every task.

Minimum Qualifications


Bachelor's degree in technology or related field; OR,Four years experience providing information technology services; OR,Any equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.

Certificates from recognized programs that indicate mastery of tools and techniques relevant to the assignment may substitute for up to six months of experience.

  • The Preparedness and Security Initiative (PSI) department at Arizona State University is highly dynamic group with an overall objective of improving security and increasing customer satisfaction for those that attend, work, or visit any of our sites. The executive director of PSI reports to the associated vicepresident of business and finance. Disciplines within PSI include; emergency management, continuity of operation, ASU fire marshal, electronic access, and the enterprise camera system.
