Select Sires, Inc. is currently seeking candidates to join our team as a Desktop and Network Support Technician. This salaried, exempt position is at our Plain City, OH facility and reports to the Infrastructure Manager.
Specific duties and responsibilities of a Desktop and Network Support Technician include, but are not limited to,
• Serve as a positive representation of the Select Sires, Inc. Mission and Core Values.
• Assist in the maintenance and testing of network and telephone infrastructure.
• Collaborate with vendor support representatives and other IS staff to determine and resolve technical problems.
• Develop and implement training plans to orient staff on the use of hardware and software.
• Offer ongoing support such as
• Perform upgrades and preventive maintenance on systems to ensure longevity.
• Provide support relating to installation, preventive maintenance, repairs, and testing of computer systems and peripherals within established standards and guidelines.
• Support staff with technical support and training of desktop and laptop computers, applications, and related technology including diagnosis and resolution of day-to-day problems faced by end users.
• Thoroughly install, configure, and provide ongoing usability of computers, peripherals, and software for local and remote users.
Typical office hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM –4:30 PM EST. Work schedules and duties are subject to change to meet departmental needs.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES OF A DESKTOP AND NETWORK SUPPORT TECHNICIAN:
• Ability to apply knowledge of Windows Operating Systems , MS Office Applications, and basic networking skills.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE OF A DESKTOP AND NETWORK SUPPORT TECHNICIAN:
• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• Previous computer support experience
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS OF A DESKTOP AND NETWORK SUPPORT TECHNICIAN:
• Ability to constantly (6 – 8 hours) sit, stand and walk
• Ability to frequently (3 – 6 hours) bend/stoop, twist, squat/kneel, climb stairs, crawl
• Ability to occasionally (1 – 3 hours) push/pull, carry 21 lbs. – 50 lbs.
• Ability to seldomly (0 – 1 hours) knee lift (18" -29") 21 lbs. – 50 lbs. waist lift (30" -36") 21 lbs. – 50 lbs., chest lift (37" -60") 21 lbs. – 50 lbs., verhead lift (>60") 0 lbs. – 20 lbs., floor lift (0-17") 0 lbs. – 20 lbs.
