We go beyond primary care with a full spectrum of services including cardiovascular health services, behavioral health, allergy testing and immunotherapy, in-house lab testing, imaging, chronic disease management and other specialty health services. We aspire to aid the growth of our company by welcoming the most qualified and deserving candidates aboard Optima is currently seeking a Prior Authorization Specialist to join our team

    Prior Authorization Specialist Responsibilities:
    • Request, prepare and submit proper documentation to establish prior authorization for necessary medical services.
    • Prioritize authorization request according to urgency.
    • Submit appeals for denied authorizations.
    • Verify accuracy of CPT and ICD - 10 diagnoses used in patients' medical charting.
    • Correspond with patients to discuss authorization status.
    Prior Authorization Specialist Qualifications:
    • Minimum of 1yr working experience in administrative role.
    • Knowledge of prior authorization process/familiarity with various medical insurances.
    • Previous experience working in primary care highly favorable.
    • 1yr experience working with an EMR system.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Strong organizational and time-management skills
    • Positive attitude that promotes teamwork and comradery
