Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized individual to join our team as a Prior Authorization Specialist.

As a Prior Authorization Specialist, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that medical procedures and treatments are approved by insurance providers.

Your expertise in medical coding, insurance verification, and knowledge of HIPAA regulations will be essential in navigating the prior authorization process.

Duties:

Review and process prior authorization requests for medical procedures and treatments
Verify patient insurance coverage and eligibility
Obtain necessary medical documentation from healthcare providers
Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain patient confidentiality
Communicate with insurance companies to obtain prior authorization approvals or denials
Collaborate with healthcare providers to gather additional information or appeal denied authorizations
Maintain accurate records of prior authorization requests and outcomes
Stay uptodate with changes in insurance policies, managed care guidelines, and medical coding practices

Skills:

Proficient in medical terminology, and ICD10 coding systems
Experience working in a medical office setting
Strong knowledge of insurance verification processes and managed care guidelines
Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and maintaining patient confidentiality
Excellent attention to detail and ability to accurately review and process documentation
Strong communication skills to effectively interact with insurance companies, healthcare providers, and patients
Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fastpaced environment
Proficient in using electronic health record systems and other relevant software

Pay:
$ $18.50 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
