    Therapist - Co-Occurring Residential Program

    Pay: $70000 per year
    Schedule: Full Time

    Full-Time Benefits: Approximate benefits package value: $24,000+.

    Program Mission Statement
    Empowering individuals who experience Co-Occurring mental wellness and substance use challenges to reclaim their lives, build resilience and cultivate lasting recovery through an all-encompassing personal approach.

    Position Summary
    Under the direct supervision of the Program Manager, the therapist functions as a clinical member of the multidisciplinary team, providing substance use and mental health services to severely and persistently mentally ill clients in an outpatient community setting.

    Essential Duties
    • Provide ongoing assessment of clients' mental illness symptoms and clients' response to treatment.
    • Facilitate groups as assigned using Trauma Informed Care.
    • Provide direct clinical services including individual supportive therapy and psychotherapy to clients on an individual, group, and/or family basis in a residential setting.
    • Develop and maintain effective therapeutic alliance with clients, including conceptualizing and fostering effective therapeutic processes.
    • Provide practical help and support, advocacy, coordination, side-by-side individualized support, problem solving, direct assistance training, and supervision to help clients obtain the necessities of daily living.
    • Provide on-call crisis intervention.
    • Participate in daily staff organizational meetings and treatment planning review meetings.
    • Complete required documentation and meet minimum service time based on program requirements.
    • Attends work on a regular and predictable basis.
    Secondary Duties
    • Maintain good professional relationships with appropriate community figures, referral sources, and other professionals.
    • Maintain and enhance professional skills and knowledge through attending conferences/ workshops/courses and reading professional materials that are relevant to job requirements and approved by the Lead Therapist and/or Program Manager. Maintain all continuing education requirements in order to maintain the therapist's professional level and status.
    • Demonstrate familiarity with and adherence to Utah laws regarding confidentiality and mandatory reporting requirements.
    • Conduct professional life in accordance with the standards of his/her discipline and the clinical policies and procedures of the agency.
    • Maintain familiarity with issues and trends in the behavioral health field including comorbid mental health issues, advances in psychopharmacology, theory, and evidence-based practices.
    • Performs other functions as necessary or assigned.
    Qualifications

    To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.     • Master's degree from an accredited college or university in a mental health discipline and Utah licensure as a mental health therapist.
    • Experience writing treatment plans, goals, and objectives.
    • Experience working with individuals diagnosed with a serious mental illness and/or substance use disorder preferred.
    • Demonstrates an ability to use sound judgment within the scope of the position's responsibilities.
    • Organized, detail oriented, self-starter.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; attention to detail.
    • Demonstrated skills in crisis intervention.
    • Computer literacy with familiarity of Microsoft Office/MS365
    • Ability to uphold professional boundaries, confidentiality regulations, agency policies and procedures, and interact in a professional manner with a diverse workforce, clients, and the public.
    • Willingness to accept supervision and direction.
    • Become CPR and First Aid Certified.
    • If driving is a part of the job, must be at least 21 years of age, possess a current driver's license, have a good driving record, and be insurable on the agency liability policy.
    • Must be able to pass Utah-DHS - Office of Licensing background screening and pre-employment drug screen.
    Physical Demands
    • Ability to walk up and down stairs.
    • Ability to move around the facility, interacting with clients for extended periods.
    • Work is generally performed in an office environment. May entail using a computer for extended periods of time.
