JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for elevating the quality assurance department by setting QA policies, leading the team, and ensuring that software testing and validation processes meet the highest standards. This role involves strategic oversight of testing initiatives, the development and execution of detailed test plans, and fostering an environment of continuous improvement within the QA function.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Strategic Leadership and Planning: Formulate and execute a comprehensive QA strategy in line with company objectives. Oversee the design and implementation of test frameworks and methodologies to guarantee software quality.
Team Management and Development: Lead the QA team by setting clear expectations, providing mentorship, and facilitating professional growth. Ensure a collaborative atmosphere conducive to skill and knowledge sharing.
Quality Assurance and Control: Establish and uphold stringent QA processes and standards. Monitor all phases of the software development life cycle (SDLC) to identify quality assurance opportunities and enforce best practices.
Test Management: Create, manage, and supervise the execution of test plans, cases, and scripts, ensuring software adheres to or surpasses set standards and user requirements.
Automation and Efficiency: Advocate for and implement automation tools and methodologies to boost testing efficiency and effectiveness. Continually assess and integrate innovative testing technologies into the QA workflow.
BDD and UAT Test Case Development: Develop Behavior-Driven Development (BDD) style User Acceptance Testing (UAT) test cases to bridge the communication gap between developers, QA engineers, and business stakeholders. Utilize Cucumber to drive automation, facilitating a clear and accessible language for test scenarios that ensures alignment with business objectives and user needs.
Cross-functional Collaboration: Maintain strong collaboration with development, product management, and customer support teams to ensure a deep understanding of product goals and customer requirements. Enhance communication between QA and other departments to align on quality objectives.
Issue Resolution and Risk Management: Direct the defect tracking and management process, working with development teams to prioritize and resolve issues promptly. Lead risk assessment and mitigation strategies related to software quality.
Performance Metrics and Reporting: Define and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for the QA process. Regularly update senior management on testing outcomes, quality metrics, project status, and risk evaluations.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the minimum knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
Over 10 years of experience in Quality Assurance, including a minimum of 4 years in a QA leadership or management capacity.
Comprehensive knowledge of QA methodologies, tools, and processes, with a particular focus on automation and agile methodologies.
Demonstrated leadership in QA team and project management, showing marked improvements in software quality and team effectiveness.
Proficiency in developing test cases, test plans, and managing defects with tools like JIRA, TestRail, or similar platforms.
Deep understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC) and QA's role within Agile and DevOps frameworks.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, capable of building strong cross-team relationships and effectively engaging with stakeholders at all organizational levels.
Proven ability to juggle multiple projects and priorities in a dynamic environment.
Utilize SQL to query databases for test validation, verify data integrity, and ensure accurate data transactions within the application.
Knowledge of Salesforce and AWS is a plus.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
While performing the logistics duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moderate noises such as computers, printers, and other light traffic noise in an office setting.

This role is in-office. Remote work may be performed from a pre-approved location, as arranged, and scheduled by team management and approved by department leadership.
