In addition, a Machinist will perform sets-up and operate a variety of measuring machine tools, to produce precision parts.Essential Functions for the CNC
Machinist Role:
Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, manuals, and specification to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished work, sequences of operations and setup requirements Edit CNC Programming Start and oversee machine operations to detect out-of-tolerance machining and adjust offsets as required Select tools and materials for assigned work orders from Production setup sheets Proof read new programs to ensure that the machinery will function properly Responsible for the selection, alignment and securing of holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories and materials on machines Document discrepancy and issues per procedures Perform preventive maintenance as required to maintain high level of work center performance Support all regulations and requirements that are necessary for ISO-9001 and ISO Perform other duties as required Serve as team member and resource for other departments Actively participates in problem prevention and problem solving as part of Corken's ongoing program of continuous improvement Be available and receptive to all training for ongoing self-development Plan daily activities within the guidelines of company policy, job description, and supervisor's instruction to maximize personal output Responsible for keeping immediate work area in a neat and orderly condition to ensure safety and quality Report any unsafe conditions and/or practices to the appropriate manager and human resources for immediately correction Required Education and Experience for the CNC
Machinist Role:
High School Diploma or GED required Two (2) years of CNC machining experience within the past five (5) years or Trade or Vocational School specifically focused on Machining Understanding of basic programing of CNC Ability to read and understand blueprints Ability to use standard precision measuring tools Ability to perform basic math problems (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division and percent conversion)
Preferred Education and Experience for the CNC
Machinist Role:
Two (2) plus years of CNC machining experience Work Environment for the CNC
Machinist Role:
Exposure to manufacturing environment. Noise level may vary from moderate office environment to noisy/loud in the plant area.
Proper use of safety equipment such as steel-toed shoes, goggles, safety glasses, gloves, apron and face shield must be observed.
