POSITION SUMMARY This position is responsible for the operation of the CNC Lathe or Mill machines to create large numbers of precisely cut or shape parts from metal or other raw materials for assembly of products in order to demonstrate proficiency as a CNC Lathe or Mill MachinistESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Abide by all Oil States Energy Services Safety and Operational Policies and Procedures.
• Review and interpret blueprints, manuals, design sketches or other work instructions to ensure the proper dimensions and tolerance levels of the finished product; study sample parts to determine dimensions of finished work pieces and CNC Lathe or Mill equipment setup requirements.
• Operate and setup Lathe or Mill production equipment by fastening part(s) to equipment table or using guide to drill holes into parts or manufacture new products from raw materials; select appropriate machine settings and correct cutting tool as necessary for the raw material while following established quality and safety standards.
• Inspect work pieces throughout a production run to ensure parts meet design specifications; measure and mark dimensions and reference points on material or work pieces as a guide for subsequent machining.
• Maintain basic preventative maintenance functions on machines, tooling and parts; inspect cutting tools for sharpness and usability; may use various precision measuring instruments to detect malfunctions; advise supervisor of needed repairs or replacements.
• Assemble, repair, and fabricate metal parts into sub-units or complete units through operation of mechanical equipment.
• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

• Must possess intermediate computer skills and possess the ability to learn company or industry specific applications and equipment.
• Must possess intermediate math skills including simple geometry and trigonometry.
• Must be able to work independently or as part of a team on a broad variety of projects.
• Must possess good verbal and written communication skills.
• Must be able to effectively manage time and prioritize tasks in order to meet establish deadlines.
• Must be able to work and communicate effectively with all levels of co-workers, clients, and other external contacts.
• Must possess intermediate knowledge of tools and machines used to manufacture product
• Must be able to read and speak English
• Must be willing to work overtime if needed and take on-call

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• Two (2) to Three (3) years experience working with the operation, setup and programming of CNC Lathe or Mills.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Must be able to work in an environment where exposure to loud noise, vibrations and bright lights, moving parts and rotating equipment is present.
• Must be able to work in an environment where exposure to various chemicals in the Machine shop environment is present.
• Must be able to lift or move objects of up to 50 pounds and lift up to 100 pounds to shoulder height.
• Must be able to frequently push forces of 30 pounds, pull forces of 100 pounds, bend, stand, kneel, carry, or sit for extended periods of time.
• Must be able to work in an environment where safety glasses, steel toe boots and ear plugs are required to be worn at all times.
• Must be able to work in an environment of varying climates including warm, hot and cold temperatures.
• Must have good manual dexterity to perform daily tasks, operate machines or other standard shop equipment.
• Must have vision and hearing within normal range.
