Position Role Type:

Assures that all measuring and test equipment meets the requirements as specified in the Quality Manual, Aerospace Standard Manual and Industry requirements.

Services all incoming test & measurement equipment (T&ME), determines T&ME suitability for calibration, repairs T&ME when within the capability of Metrology, and calibrates T&ME per Quality Program and Industry guidelines.


_ This role will be performed Onsite at our Collins Aerospace location in Phoenix, AZ._

Primary Responsibilities:


  • Works under moderate supervision.
  • Determines methods and procedures on new assignments. May be informal team leader.
  • Applies semiadvanced skills to complete complex tasks in resourceful and effective ways.
  • Works on complex tasks requiring considerable judgment and initiative. Understands implications of work and makes recommendations for solutions.
- &ME when within the capability of Metrology, and calibrates T&ME per Quality Program and Industry guidelines.

  • Performs technical tasks.
  • Utilizes various types of microelectronic, electronic, optical, electrooptical, mechanical, or electromechanical equipment, including computers and lasers.
  • Performs troubleshooting, calibration or modification of hardware, fixtures, and software.
  • Participates on project teams.
  • Performs task prioritization.
  • Interacts with other functional groups (e.g. engineering, manufacturing) on technical matters.
  • Applies technical expertise in the evaluation, development, maintenance and use of products, devices, tests, or procedures under constantly changing conditions where ingenuity and judgment are required.
  • Manages and maintains technical assets.
  • Manufacturing Activities
  • Support activities through the resolution of problems and preparation and maintenance of documentation
  • Manage work flow throughout area to achieve team goals
  • Evaluate and troubleshoot nonconformances
  • Fabricate hardware, equipment, tools or prototypes from drawings or sketches
  • Estimate labor, material, and manufacturing costs for the building and repair of product or process enhancement
  • Identify and correct minor process, material, design, or equipment
  • Documentation
  • Provide accurate recording of time changes, test data, parts usage, etc. This requires data interpretation
  • Utilize multiple databases to create/use necessary information to provide information for decision making requiring limited judgment.

Qualifications/Experience Needed**:


  • Typically requires a HS diploma and a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience. In the absence of a HS diploma or GED, 6 years of relevant experience is
- required.
U.S. Person (U.S. citizen, permanent resident, refugee or asylee) or eligible to obtain necessary export authorizations required


Preferred Qualifications:


  • Associates degree in appropriate discipline and 3 years related experience or in the absence of an associate's degrees, Eight years of related experience.
  • Military PMEL or related calibration experience a plus
  • Experience with Physical Dimensional equipment and Electronic test equipment would be preferred
  • Excellent communicator both written and verbal
  • Ability to read and follow written work instructions.
  • Ability to read and interpret electronic schematics and specifications.
  • Excel and Word Experience a plus
  • Familiarity with AS9001 or ISO17025 a plus
