Job Description

Provides core support for admissions, marketing & recruitment; primary staff support for the Bread Loaf Teacher Network (BLTN) and the Vermont Writing Center; assists with development of professional development / winter institutes.

This is a part time position (around 30 hours per week), benefits eligible, hourly position with a hiring range of $19.90 to 24.88 per hour.

Core Responsibilities:

Assists with admissions, handling student queries, processing admissions documents, and monitoring full application process for each student.
Works with Administrative Director to develop marketing materials, and serves as primary point person for all recruiting events.
Supports BLTN administration year-round: arranges BLTN meetings & conferences; tracks events and budgets; updates BLTN materials.
Provides summer support for Vermont Writing Center director: assisting with hiring, training, scheduling, and tracking peer tutors.
Assists with development & implementation of short-term professional development institutes.

Requirements

Associate degree required, BA preferred or equivalent experience; some familiarity with humanities education a plus.

Excellent communication skills and willingness to learn how to market the program essential; ability to work easily and flexibly as part of an administrative team and with multiple constituencies.

Proficiency with MS Office applications, especially Word and Excel, required; some familiarity with Slate a plus.

Physical Demands and Working Conditions

During academic year, works in main office at least 2 days per week, with option to work remotely up to 3 days per week; during summer works on Bread Loaf campus in Ripton.
