General Production


Fab Department
The production worker in the Fab Department performs all tasks involved in the production of Parkland Plastics' products. This includes but is not limited to cutting, routing, fabricating, sanding, painting, coating, touch-up, packaging, and clean up.

The position follows strict work methods and practices safe work habits to ensure production is as efficient and safe as possible.


Essential Functions

  • Reads work orders and performs work as assigned by department supervisor.
  • Works and communicates verbally with others in the department (including lift truck operators) to lift and move heavy items or coordinate work processes.
  • Sets up, lays out, cuts, routs, fabricates, sands, paints, coats, and otherwise produces/alters/touches up raw materials.
  • Verifies the quality of the fabricated material to ensure color consistency and texture uniformity.
  • Attaches appropriate labels/tags to products and packages.
  • Pack finished goods into correct packages and boxes or onto pallets.
  • Notifies supervisor of any mechanical or material issues.
  • Maintains a clean and safe work area.

  • Must accurately read tape measures and understand both the Metric and English systems of measurement.

Supervisory Responsibility

  • This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes and airborne particles, moving parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment can be loud, but does not surpass the OSHA thresholds for requiring hearing protection.
  • While performing duties of this job, safety glasses are required to be worn. Protective gloves are offered to prevent slivers and small nicks/cuts.

Physical Demands


The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to:

  • Talk and hear.
  • Stand and walk a minimum of 8 hours per day. This job cannot be done while seated.
  • Good vision and the ability to distinguish colors is required.
  • The ability to lift 75 lbs. daily (up to 400+ times per day) and frequently coordinate lifting up to 200 lbs. with a coworker.
  • Employee must be able to carry heavy objects short distances.
  • Employee must be able to frequently push/pull material on rollers or smooth surfaces up to 100 lbs. at waist height and occasionally do the same with material up to 200 lbs.
  • Employee must be able to crouch/squat up to 20 times daily for up to 30 minutes at a time.
  • Employee must be able kneel up to 20 times daily for up to 10 minutes at a time.
  • Employee must have good balance.
  • Employee must be able to firmly grip material while lifting/carrying.
  • Employee must use hands and fingers to handle or feel material.

Position Type/ Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position, and hours of work and days are Monday through Friday from 6:00am to 2:30pm. Occasionally, the employee will be required to work weekends.

No travel is expected for this position.


Preferred Education and Experience
High school diploma or GED.

Previous production experience.
