    Description

    JOB GOAL

    Responsible for skilled journeyman level welding work and a full range of welding tasks.

    Essential Duties & Responsibilities

    • Executes fabrication, installation, replacement, and repair of metal and steel.
    • Performs structural fabrication, installation, repair, and maintenance tasks for various welding projects.
    • Welds and repairs equipment such as trucks, mowers, TV carts, and pipes.
    • Completes custom fabrications using different materials on shop machinery.
    • Fabricates and installs sheet metal for gutters and downspouts.
    • Assists with relocating and modifying MCRs and installing handrails.
    • Installs roof components, traffic control gates, and security screens.
    • Repairs cafeteria equipment, exhaust systems, and play equipment.
    • Delivers, sets up, and inspects portable wheelchair lifts.
    • Installs ventilation kits, fabricates ductwork, and operates maintenance equipment.
    • Performs various related duties as needed.

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

    Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

    • Proficiency in welding methods, materials, and equipment.
    • Understanding of metal properties and gauges.
    • Working knowledge of skilled trades, safety regulations, and building codes.
    • Ability to read blueprints, diagrams, and job specifications.
    • Skilled in fabrication, welding, and facility repair.
    • Effective communication and problem-solving skills.
    • Operational knowledge of various computer programs.
    • Time management and organizational abilities.

    Education, Training & Experience

    • Associate degree in precision metalworking.
    • 10-15 years of welding and sheet metal experience.

    OR

    • Equivalent combination of education and experience for the role.

    Certificates, Licenses & Registrations

    • Valid driver's license.
    • B-license for lift gate truck operation.
    • AWS Certified Welder Certification desired.

    SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

    • Valid driver's license or reliable transportation.
    • Travel to various locations for work purposes.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Specialized welding training.
    • Trade school or community college welding courses.
    • 5-10 years of fabrication-welding experience.
    • Experience in mig, tig, stick, and gas welding techniques.
