- Research new and existing accounting pronouncements applicable to Ventas, including, but not limited to, topics in the real estate, healthcare, investment, debt, joint venture, transaction structure, consolidation and lease accounting areas.
- Review technical accounting memorandums for all research, financial statement issues and for key transactions, documenting the supporting accounting literature and Ventas's position and treatment.
- Review quarterly filings of industry peers, our public tenants, managers and operators that includes financial statement filings and earnings releases.
- Summarize and report on key disclosure items.
- Assist with preparation of new financial statement disclosures.
- Review accounting for business combinations, ASC-805
- Review yearly impairment analysis
- Provide support for dispositions related to asset sales
- Review accounting support memos
- Assist with SEC filings and related support.
- Assist with special projects as they arise.
- Bachelors degree in Accounting
- CPA with at least 4 years of experience with a Big 4 Accounting Firm
- 7 to 10 years of progressive accounting experience in a corporate environment
- Excellent working knowledge of U.S. GAAP combined with ability to research and propose company positions on complex accounting issues. SEC reporting knowledge a plus.
- Real estate/REIT knowledge a plus.
