    Default job background
    Description

    Who We Are:

CAMBA is a community of staff, volunteers, clients, donors, neighbors and partners who work together to build an inclusive New York City.

CAMBA serves more than 65,000 individuals and families each year, citywide, including almost 13,000 youth. Our 180+ programs in over 100 locations improve the lives of a diverse cross section of New Yorkers.

From homelessness prevention in Staten Island to supportive housing in the Bronx; from employment training in Manhattan to after school programs and college access in Brooklyn; from family shelter and support in Queens to increasing affordable housing across the city, CAMBA provides holistic services to help struggling New Yorkers stabilize their lives and become self-sufficient.

CAMBA's LGBTQ PREVENTION NAVIGATION 2.0 Program provides substance misuse and HIV/hepatitis prevention navigation services to men who have sex with men (MSM) and transgender/gender nonconforming (TGNC) individuals of color who have sex with men, ages 13 and above, in Brooklyn communities most impacted by the HIV epidemic.

These include Bedford-Stuyvesant, Crown Heights, East New York, and Flatbush/East Flatbush.

Outreach staff who identify with the community of focus conduct in-person and online outreach to their peers through dating apps/hook up sites.

The Client Advocates recruits clients into a multi-pronged intervention consisting of: sexual health, hepatitis, and substance misuse screening; brief interventions and education sessions; linkage to biomedical and behavioral interventions; and supportive services.

The program uses social media campaigns to promote awareness of mental health issues; risk reduction strategies; substance use, hepatitis, and HIV prevention options; and anti-stigma messaging.
