We are on the lookout for a senior-level professional capable of configuring VeloCloud SDWAN solutions from the ground up, with a solid grasp of OSPF and EIGRP protocols. This is a unique opportunity to roll out AT&T's SDWAN as a Service, tailored specifically for our esteemed client, offering a dedicated and comprehensive support structure directly managed by the client.

    Positioned for a 12-month tenure with potential for extension, this role not only promises a lucrative monthly compensation but also a chance to enhance your portfolio with specialized experience in the banking industry. Ideal candidates will possess relevant certifications, though not mandatory, and a background in banking will be viewed favorably.

    Your primary responsibilities will include the design and implementation of innovative network solutions, ensuring the efficiency and security of current networks, and troubleshooting to maintain optimal network performance. We value professionals with an analytical mindset, quick learning capability, excellent time management, and strong communication skills.

    This role requires your presence on-site for 2-3 days per week in either Frisco, TX, or Auburn Hills, MI, offering a blend of in-office collaboration and remote flexibility.

    Job Duties -

    As a VeloCloud SDWAN Engineer, your primary responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

    Network Design and Implementation: You will be tasked with designing new network solutions that enhance operational efficiency. This involves deploying VeloCloud SD-WAN technologies, cloud interconnections, and B2B VPN networks according to specific project requirements and industry best practices.

    Configuration and Support: You will install, configure, and support a wide range of network equipment, including routers, switches, wireless APs and controllers, and specifically, VeloCloud SD-WAN devices. This encompasses the entire setup process from initial deployment to ensuring consistent operational functionality.

    Network Equipment Procurement: You are responsible for procuring network equipment and managing subcontractors involved with network installation projects. This duty requires a blend of technical knowledge and project management skills to ensure timely and budget-friendly deliveries.

    Maximizing Network Efficiency and Security: Through configuring firewalls, routing, and switching, you will maximize network efficiency and security. You'll be designing and implementing complex network routing schemes composed of BGP, OSPF, and EIGRP.

    Network Performance Optimization: Regular monitoring and troubleshooting of the network to maximize performance are key responsibilities. This includes conducting scheduled upgrades and maintenance while minimizing downtime and disruption to the network.

    Fault Investigation and Troubleshooting: When network or application issues arise, you'll be at the forefront of troubleshooting and investigating to quickly resolve faults. Your ability to diagnose and fix problems efficiently is critical to the smooth operation of our network services.

    Firmware Updates and Maintenance: You'll ensure that all network equipment is up-to-date with the latest firmware releases, safeguarding the network against vulnerabilities and optimizing performance.

    Stakeholder Reporting: Regularly reporting the status of the network to key stakeholders is essential. This includes preparing detailed reports on network performance, incidents, and the progress of ongoing projects.

    Your role is pivotal in ensuring the seamless operation and continual improvement of our network infrastructure, directly impacting our client's success. You will be expected to leverage your expertise in VeloCloud SD-WAN technology to drive innovative solutions that meet and exceed our client's expectations.

    To be considered for the VeloCloud SDWAN Engineer position, candidates must meet the following requirements:

    Professional Experience: Significant experience as a network engineer, with a focus on SD-WAN technologies, specifically VeloCloud. A senior level of proficiency in configuring VeloCloud SDWAN solutions from scratch is essential. Experience with OSPF and EIGRP routing protocols is required.

    Industry Experience: Prior experience in the banking or financial services industry is highly desirable. Familiarity with the specific network and security requirements of this sector will be considered an advantage.

    Technical Skills:

    Expertise in designing, implementing, and managing SD-WAN solutions, especially VeloCloud.

    Proficiency in configuring and managing network equipment, including routers, switches, wireless APs and controllers.

    Advanced knowledge of firewall configurations, routing, and switching to optimize network efficiency and security.

    Experience in complex network routing using BGP, OSPF, and EIGRP.

    Education and Certification:

    A degree in computer science, electrical engineering, electronic engineering, or a related field is required.

    Certification in Cisco, VeloCloud SD-WAN, AWS, Azure, or GCP is preferred but not mandatory.

    Professional Qualities:

    Analytical mindset with the ability to solve complex problems.

    Quick learner, capable of adapting to new technologies and procedures.

    Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks.

    Strong adherence to processes with a keen eye for detail.

    Exceptional documentation skills.

    Awareness of commercial and business implications of technology solutions.

    Work Location and Travel: Willingness to work onsite 2-3 days per week in either Frisco, TX, or Auburn Hills, MI. The role may require occasional travel to other locations as per project requirements.

    Other: The ability to manage subcontractors and oversee network installation projects. Must be proficient in the procurement of network equipment and managing the logistics of network implementation.

    Desired Skills & Experience -

    While meeting the core requirements is essential for the VeloCloud SDWAN Engineer role, the following skills and experiences are highly desirable and will set candidates apart:

    Advanced Networking Knowledge: Understanding of advanced networking concepts and technologies beyond SD-WAN, such as software-defined networking (SDN), network functions virtualization (NFV), and cloud networking principles. Familiarity with IPv6 is also advantageous.

    Security Expertise: Knowledge of advanced network security practices, including intrusion detection systems (IDS), intrusion prevention systems (IPS), and secure network architecture. Experience with cybersecurity frameworks relevant to the banking and financial sectors would be a plus.

    Project Management Skills: Although not a primary function of the role, experience with project management, including planning, execution, monitoring, and closing projects, is beneficial. Familiarity with project management tools and methodologies is also desirable.

    Automation and Scripting: Proficiency in automation tools and scripting languages such as Python, Ansible, or Terraform to automate network configuration and management tasks. This skill set is increasingly important for modern network engineering roles.

    Cloud Services Integration: Experience with integrating network services with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud Platform. Understanding how SD-WAN technology can be leveraged to connect and secure cloud environments is valuable.

    Collaboration and Leadership: While not a managerial role, leadership skills and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams are important. Experience leading technical projects or teams, even in an informal capacity, can be beneficial.

    Continuous Learning and Development: A demonstrated commitment to continuous professional development, especially in areas like emerging network technologies, cybersecurity, and cloud services. Candidates who show an eagerness to stay ahead of technology trends will be highly regarded.

    Customer Service Orientation: Experience in roles that require direct interaction with clients or end-users, particularly in troubleshooting, support, and gathering requirements for network design and implementation.

    Certifications: Additional certifications related to network security, cloud computing, or project management, such as PMP, CISSP, or cloud-specific certifications, though not required, will enhance a candidates profile.
