Job Description:
Hours: 8am-5pm, Monday-Friday
The Scheduling Specialist position is responsible for scheduling outpatient procedures from referring providers with office staff or patients via telephone for various hospital departments.
The clinical scheduling specialist serves all of the departments and must navigate, compromise, and negotiate successful tracking and coordination of referrals; it requires highly technical clerical tasks, specific to an area of work, at the expert level Assure receipt of doctors' orders for exams and QA scheduled exams with doctors' orders for accuracy.
Clinical or Non-Clinical options available
Non-
Clinical:
GED or High School Diploma required.
6 months related work experience preferred. Experience with computers and knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
Clinical:
Minimum of Associate Degree in the clinical area of Nursing or Radiology required.
2 years experience in clinical field and 1 year scheduling experience preferred.
AART, LPN, RN license required or recently held.
