    Powder River Industries, LLC provides technical services across the entire system development life cycle (SDLC). As a prime we are responsible for complete end to end system management for a customer's mission system. This includes a data center, integrated
    logistics support, COOP, and disaster recovery.

    As a subcontractor we are providing services from:

    DevSecOps, software development, network administration, systems analysis, database administration, storage engineering, hardware engineering, Tier 1 – Tier 3 support in traditional data center environments (bare metal frames), cloud, and hybrid cloud.

    The cloud environments we are operating in today are AWS, Microsoft Azure, and Oracle.

    Requirements:

    The chosen candidate is to provide support for a broad range of programs including planning, analysis and testing various components for unclassified and classified networks in support of Joint Service Provider.

    The correct candidate will integrate into a team of Systems Administrators supporting daily operations.


    PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Experience working with VMWare ESXi or other virtualization platforms
    • Experience using Hyperconverged platforms
    • Experience with fabric interconnect; UCS line of Cisco products and services
    • Optimizes system operation and resource utilization and performs system capacity analysis and planning.
    • Updates firmware and required device profiles installed / deployed to Zero Client devices.
    • Maintains fully
    patched/updated/mitigated


    Operating System image for testing and production and provides assistance to customers with operations of Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) systems.


    • Works directly with VMware VCenter Server/ESXi Hosts and VMWare Horizon View Administrator and maintains the virtual client pools, and virtual machines for maximum efficiency and monitors the virtual and physical network to ensure system availability.
    • Updates/remediates patching of ESXi host devices.
    • Compiles the VDI Operating System image for testing and deployment to the user production environment.

    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

    Clearance:
    Active Top Secret Clearance

    CompTIA Security+ CE
    Current Microsoft Windows 10 or VMware (VCA or VCP- preferred) certifications


    Desired Qualifications:
    An ideal candidate would have demonstrated experience in use of Cisco UCS or Hyperflex/HX specifically.
    Administer Linux OSs running on multiple flavors/versions.

    Manage and maintain currently supported and subsequent Linux OS on physical and virtual OEs, providing technical oversight and consultation services to include, but not limited to, the following: Install, configure, administer, and support secure remote access utilities and applications including: Secure Shell, Secure Web Access, Virtualization (e.g., HyperVisor, VMWare, etc.), and Remote X server access.

    VMWare virtual machines, Linux administration, Netbackup, backups, Nagios Install, configure, maintain, manage, and troubleshoot Linux OEs and associated components such as the OS, file system, hardware issues, kernel and OS performance, DNS, network attached storage, storage area networks, and networking components including virtual local area networks, BIOS, and bonded network interfaces.

    Configure and sustain OEs aligning with DoD-provided

    requirements/engineering


    specifications as related to each specified network and storage components and applicable tool suites, performing functional validation subsequent to system or component modification.

    Proactively monitor OEs using enterprise systems management toolsets, as well as, unique MP toolsets and correct system anomalies.
    Monitor system performance to identify and correct performance issues.
    Manage clustering at the OS level, leveraging clustering software and packages.
    Monitor, manage, administer and troubleshoot Amazon Web Services (AWS) as necessary to support the environment.
    Perform Kernel and File System tuning appropriate for the unique requirements of a particular system for optimum performance.

    Utilize shell and utility scripting (e.g., Bourne, Korn, PERL, BASH, Python, Ansible, and other DoD standard tools) to optimize and automate system administration tasks.

    Provide technical support for DR efforts (actual or simulated) to include DR documentation.
    Perform hardware and software technology refreshes, ensuring compliance with tight timelines while coordinating with MPs to minimize disruptions.
    Manage all tickets (e.g., incident, problem, change, service requests, etc.) in accordance with DoD policies and any MP SLAs. This encompasses any ticketing system used to record tickets utilized by DoD personnel in support of mission requirements.
    Perform backup/recovery functions for Linux OEs.
    Provide a report of overall backup compliance, broken out by team, and then by team member.

    Technical Environment:
    Microsoft, Active Directory, Group Policy creation, maintenance, and application Desktop management, DHCP, DNS, Print Server, DFS, Microsoft Exchange, Microsoft SfB, Microsoft Sharepoint , Linux, Splunk, Tenable

    Requirements:
    TS – must be willing and able to maintain a CI polygraph. Must attain all necessary read ins for work. This is a condition of employment.
    Demonstrated technical skills.
    Team orientation – no one is more special than anyone else. Everyone is essential on the team.

    On-site is required. Remote is not an option.
    Occasional on-call support in the event of an emergency situation (approximately every eight weeks.).
