- Patient Check-In and Check-Out:
- Greet patients warmly as they arrive and assist them with the check-in process.
- Verify and update patient information, ensuring accuracy in electronic medical records.
- Schedule follow-up appointments and procedures as directed by healthcare providers.
- Process patient check-out, collect payments, and issue receipts
- Coordinate and schedule appointments for consultations, diagnostic tests, and procedures.
- Ensure optimal utilization of appointment slots and manage appointment cancellations or rescheduling.
- Verify patient insurance coverage and obtain necessary authorizations for procedures.
- Assist patients in understanding their insurance benefits and responsibilities.
- Maintain confidentiality and accuracy of patient records.
- Organize and manage medical records, ensuring they are up-to-date and readily accessible.
- Assist with the transfer of medical records when necessary.
- Collaborate with medical staff to coordinate patient flow and address any scheduling or administrative challenges.
- Assist in maintaining the cleanliness and orderliness of the reception area.
- Provide exceptional customer service to patients, addressing their concerns and inquiries in a professional and empathetic manner.
- Handle difficult situations with tact and escalate issues to the appropriate personnel when necessary.
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or training in healthcare administration is a plus.
- Proven experience as a medical receptionist or in a similar customer service role.
- Familiarity with medical terminology and procedures, especially in gastroenterology, is preferred.
- Proficiency in using electronic medical records (EMR) systems, preferably Athena One.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Ability to maintain composure in a fast-paced environment.
