    This position can be based anywhere. Preference is Houston, Austin, Dallas or Durham.

    What you will do

    Our Business Process Outsourcing team supports our external clients with various Accounting and Finance functions such as participating in period end financial reporting and accounting tasks, preparation of journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reports. The successful candidate will be a polished and technically competent accounting professional, who will be assigned to one of our marquee Big Tech clients. As the Accounting Controller, you will:
    • Manage the month-end close process for a business unit of global tech client.
    • Lead month-end close activities, including journal entries, flux analysis, reporting, and reconciliations according to the close schedule as provided by client.
    • Proactively address issues, own the outcome, and continuously strive for best-in-class deliverables.
    • Create tracking spreadsheets, templates, or any other materials as needed to complete the month-end close process.
    • Perform GL cleanup and resolve issues affecting GL journal entries as they arise to ensure proper accounting is recorded during close.
    • Support with documenting processes as needed (creation of desktop procedures).
    • As part of our compliance program, all team members are required to follow industry leading data and system security practices.
    Qualifications

    What you will need
    • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or equivalent field required.
    • CPA, CA and/or Master's degree.
    • 6+ years of accounting and/or audit experience.
    • Extensive experience in month-end close.
    • Solid understanding of accounting principles and US GAAP.
    • Technical accounting experience.
    • Strong end-to-end process orientation.
    • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
    • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work with teams cross-functionally.
    • Excellent business partnering, influencing and presentation skills.
    • Demonstrated analytical thinking, project management, and problem-solving skills.
    • Proficiency in MS Office applications (Excel, Word, Access, Outlook, and PowerPoint).
    What we prefer
    • SAP software experience.
    • Consulting, professional services or Business Process Outsourcing experience.
    • Corporate accounting experience in a publicly traded company.
    • Intermediate to Advanced Microsoft Excel, including VLOOKUP, VBA, Pivot Tables.
