Location: Remote

Job Overview: Seeking a proactive Junior FOIA Analyst to join our team, supporting the management and processing of Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests. This position is ideal for junior-level professionals looking to expand their experience in FOIA operations, offering opportunities for growth and skill development.

Key Responsibilities:

Intake and Initial FOIA requests.
Assist in documenting project plans for FOIA requests, tracking milestones and deadlines.
Communicate with FOIA requesters, providing updates on request status and addressing queries.
Participate in training sessions and apply learned principles to improve FOIA process efficiency.
Review documents and identify needs for external consultation or further internal coordination before release.
Maintain and update records of FOIA requests and responses, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
Support internal teams in allocating resources for the timely fulfillment of FOIA requests.
Help manage FOIA records, ensuring secure and organized storage.
Contribute to the preparation and distribution of FOIA-related reports and documentation.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree
4 years total experience and 2 years of experience in FOIA processing, to include Intake.
Understanding of FOIA regulations, exemptions, and application in real-world scenarios.
Good communication and interpersonal skills, with a customer-oriented approach.
Experience with FOIA management software and electronic document systems (such as FOIAXpress).
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with Adobe Suite.
Ability to analyze and apply FOIA legislation effectively.
Strong organizational skills with a keen eye for detail.
U.S. citizenship and the ability to pass a Government background investigation.
