Harvest Home transforms the lives of homeless pregnant women and their children by providing housing, support, and programs that equip women to become good mothers.
Workingcollaborativelywith theExecutive Director and Board of Directors, the Director of Donor Impact will develop,implement, andmanage the organization'sfundraising andcommunicationsprogramsengaging a community of supporters to achieveyearlyfunding goals.
Through strategic and relational leadership, the director will lead donor engagement efforts focused on identifying, cultivating, and stewarding individual, foundation,and corporate relationships with prospective and current donors.
This individual directs annual giving programs including ourmonthly giving program, Team 365, planning and implementing fundraising and donor engagement events including an annual gala, create opportunities for engagement for varying donor constituent groups, and facilitate plannedgiving opportunities.
The director reflects and champions the mission and values of Harvest Home through personalized community engagement.Communication activities includedevelopingstrategies and content for digital and print communications including website, social media, eblasts, mobile giving platform, and printed newsletters and appeal campaigns.
The director leads efforts to ensure operational excellence in gift entry, CRM/donor database management, donor recognition, and project management.JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develop and implement high touch strategic fundraising and communications plan that includes personalized donor development for all prospects including major donors, constituent donors, foundations and corporations, fundraising events and sponsorships, direct mail campaigns,and planned gifts
Work closely with the Executive Director, Board of Directors, and other supporters to proactively identify, cultivate, and steward a portfolio of prospective and current donors
Build relationships with donors through personal engagement including regular communication, meals/events, phone calls, correspondence, invitations for involvement, impact reports, tours, volunteer opportunities, and strategic donor engagement plans
Utilize CRM system for prospect qualification, contacts management, donor recognition and donor engagement,
Develop a plan to evaluate and assess current donor engagement practices and design and implement plans for increasing engagement.
Work with contracted Grant Writer to develop and implement an annual foundation strategy and further optimize the grants administration process by identifying prospective funders, preparing, and reviewing grant proposals, managing timelines and reporting requirements, hosting site visits and submitting progress reportsas requested
Work with Executive Director and Board of Directors to develop strategic goals for fundraising and lead board in carrying out strategic goals.
Oversee fundraising events including an annual fundraising galaand work with staff, volunteers and board of directors to implementSuccessfully meet fundraising goals and performance metricsand report monthly to board of directors
Direct calendar of development activities overseeing content for internal and external communications, including but not limited to digital and print collateral materials, web content and social media posts, fundraising appeals, annual reports, and event communications
Work with volunteers, staff, and contractors (design,social media,grant writing)to carry out the organization's fundraising and communications activities
Represent the organization in the community as needed
Stay apprised of fundraising and industry best practices and adjust organizational practices accordingly
RELEVANT EXPERIENCE:
Demonstrate a clear understanding of Harvest Home's mission and its significance- articulate this mission meaningfully in large and small groups
Bachelor's degree
5+ years of progressive fundraising and development experience in a non-profit setting, preferred
10+ professional experience working in dynamic and growth-focused settings with experience leading teams (staff, volunteers, etc)
Experience in marketing, communication, public relations, or related field, a plus
Willingness and availability to work evenings and weekends for events and donor-related activities, as necessary
Strong computer skills; proficiency with Microsoft Office software, social media, and donor management systems
Proven success applying the following professional skills resulting in strong donor relationships:
Developing donor relationships and soliciting giftsfrom donors, foundations and corporations.
Managing projects from start to finish and leading collaborative teams to accomplish goals
Excellent verbal and written communication including public speaking, presentation skills, report, proposal, and letter writing and proofreading
Applied knowledge of fundraisingbest practices
Exceptional interpersonal and influencing skills,including a high emotional quotient and abilityto develop and maintain successful working relationships with volunteers, staff, and donors;must thrive working collaboratively as a teamplayer
Abilityto think strategically, solve problems and creatively to engage diverse audiences
Fiscal integrity in managing fundraising budget, staff, and expenses
Experience with data strategy and support of donor management systems
Self leadership including organizational skills, taking initiative and time management
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
Valid California Driver's license and clean driving record
