    Description

    Medica develops and manufactures affordable clinical analyzers and other products for the diagnostic laboratory and point-of-care settings.     Under the direction of the Director of Marketing, the Product Manager is responsible for the ownership and management of a designated product portfolio throughout its entire lifecycle. From the early stages of product requirements definition and their eventual transition through the product road map stages, the Product Manager engages actively with peers, customers, and distributors to understand their needs and translate their feedback into actionable portfolio enhancements. In close collaboration with internal cross-functional R&D, regulatory, quality, sales/marketing, finance and operational teams, the Product Manager contributes to and drives the growth and success of the assigned product portfolio.

    Product Portfolio Management

    · Monitor sales performance and customer satisfaction with existing product portfolio through active interaction with field sales organization, distribution personnel, and end-user customers.

    · Identify and define new product requirements, or enhancements to existing products, and assign priority based on market demands. Recommending changes to plans as necessary.

    · Work collaboratively with product development teams throughout the product definition and development process, supporting the timely achievement of project milestones and roadmap implementation.

    · Develop and maintain up-to-date knowledge in relevant technology trends in domestic and international markets.

    · Act as the voice-of-the-customer, gathering business intelligence in the point-of-care, clinical laboratory and healthcare testing markets and providing insights to internal stakeholders and cross-functional teams on product requirements.

    · Develop relationships with key technologists/customer sites to provide direct input for product development, use-case testing and development of other product strategies.

    · Lead reference and use studies and evaluations.

    Product Commercial Support

    · Develop written product support material for the sales organization that explains our product design and operation as well as its commercial positioning strategy and competitive differentiation.

    · Partner with the Sales and Marketing Teams to define scope and develop written technical and application content for commercial presentations, sales proposals, and product development documents.

    · Assist in the development of product collateral, technical documentation, demonstration materials, and product user guides. Complete all documentation required for revisions.

    · Review and analyze market studies, trade literature, and Internet sources to formulate ideas and opinions on areas of opportunity; maintain files of competitive material and information for reference.

    · Work closely with sales and marketing management to establish sales strategy, targeting, and promotion of assigned product lines.

    · Provide commercial input related to assigned portfolio including participation in product reviews, upstream marketing activities, product training, customer support, product demand forecasting, selling price, inventory recommendations, development of budgets and general sales/marketing product support.

    · In cooperation with operations and product development, assist in setting product margin targets and cost reduction plans/targets. Review revenue targets and margin objectives on an on-going basis.

    · Plan and execute new product launch activities including assistance in pricing strategy, demand planning and customer ship prioritization.

    · Participate in product demonstrations, industry conferences, and webinars with customers and partners.

    · Collaborate with customer support on product related questions and/or programs. Work cross-functionally with operations, R&D, Technical and Customer Support to resolve product related issues.

    Business Planning and Support

    · Contribute to the development of annual and corporate strategic business and marketing plans.

    · Support the development of go-to-market and sales strategies and value proposition for assigned products.

    Qualifications:

    · Bachelor's Degree or advanced degree in medical technology, engineering, business, marketing or healthcare related field required.

    · 3+ year's product management/clinical laboratory experience or 5+ years of related experience in engineering, sales, marketing and/or clinical applications. Working experience in medical devices, clinical blood gas, hematology, or clinical chemistry in a point-of-care or clinical laboratory setting a strong plus.

    · Organized and self-motivated team-player with an entrepreneurial attitude. Enthusiastic and passionate about understanding and addressing customer needs.

    · Strong critical thinking and communication skills required.

    · Works effectively in solving problems and managing projects of diverse complexity and scope.

    · Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Programs and Salesforce applications (or other CRMs).

    • · Willingness and ability to travel; 10-15%.
