    DS Smith Plc is a leading provider of corrugated packaging and are present in 37 countries, employing around 32,000 people. This job description if for a Bilingual Human Resources Generalist. This position is part of the Packaging Group.It will report to Human Resources Leader.

    Responsible for Human Resources function in the Vineland, NJ DS Smith plant location.This individual will be on the onsite Human Resources Generalist and will provide HR services to the Leadership team at the local site.Includes all aspects of Human Resources including Employee Relations, HRIS/Payroll data management, Benefits enrollment, Site Recruiting, etc.

    Areas of Responsibility

    • Provide support and resources for staff and management in employee relations issues.
    • Responsible for all recruiting for the facility including processing employment advertisements, applications, screenings, interviewing and weekly reporting to Regional/ Divisional HR team.
    • Assist with on-site training, including safety, employee development, and benefits to include partnering with department managers to identify outside training resources for employee development.
    • Assist with the development of job descriptions for current and future positions.
    • Update employee information such as personal data, compensation, benefits, tax data, attendance, performance reviews or evaluations, and termination date and reason. Update employee files to document personnel actions and to provide information for payroll and other uses. Examines employee files to answer inquiries and provides information to authorized persons.
    • Assist management in monitoring attendance, seniority lists, and maintenance of HR records.
    • Will assist employees in processing insurance (medical, dental, prescription, etc.) claims. This will include the resolution of claim problems, which may be encountered.
    • Assisting new hire benefit enrollments as well as benefit or status changes. Enters employee benefit changes into the UltiPro HRIS System.
    • Responsible for scheduling new hire orientations, including benefits overview, rules, checkoff cards, attendance, and benefit enrollments. Responsible for coordinating the attendance of appropriate management representatives for the orientation.
    • Coordinate service and recognition awards, including the Smithies Awards, in conjuction with members of site management.
    • Coordination of local programs such as United Way drives, flu shots, employee engagement initiatives, etc.
    • Process S & A claims with the appropriate Shared Services team.
    • Other duties as assigned.
    Education & Certifications

    Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or three to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

    Experience

    • Partner and collaborate with Regional and Divisional HR Team.
    • Excellent interpersonal and supervisory skills.
