POSITION:Clinical Laboratory Technology Program Director and Instructor, FT

Description

The Clinical Laboratory Technology Instructor is responsible forteaching courses in the Clinical Laboratory Technology program on the Clarkesville Campus during day and/or evening hours. Responsible for setting up labs and implementing the processes necessary to provide hands-on experience for the students. Familiarity with NAACLS guidelines for Clinical Laboratory Technology Programs. The Program Director will liaison with NAACLS and prepare and submit required reports, ensure compliance, monitor quality of program, and make necessary changes. Coordinate program class schedules and adjunct teaching assignments. Coordinate and monitor clinical sites, direct program accreditation activities and reviews, collaborate annual planning and assessment with program faculty, assist with recruitment, advisement/registration, and advisory meetings, and other duties assigned by Vice President or Dean for Academic Affairs.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Clinical Laboratory Technology, Biology, or Chemistry *and* current certification as a Medical Technologist or Clinical/Medical Laboratory Scientist. Minimum three years of full-time clinical laboratory experience within the past seven years.

Preferred Qualifications

Master's degree or higher in Clinical Laboratory Technology, Biology, Chemistry, any related health science or education *and* current certification as a Medical Technologist or Clinical/Medical Laboratory Scientist. Minimum three years of related teaching experience *and* knowledge of educational methodology and administration. If the recommended candidate possesses a Master's degree or higher, he/she could also serve as the Program Director.
