    RESEARCH CONTRACT ANALYST, University Research Tracking Code Job Description

    Boston University's Industry Engagement team seeks a Research Contract Analyst to provide review and processing of a variety of research related agreements.

    Industry Engagement (IE) is a crucial component of the University's research enterprise serving as a bridge from the research and educational domains within the University and our external collaborators.

    IE addresses the needs of companies and other key partners wishing to engage the University in Corporate Sponsored Research, Corporate Relations, and other strategic relationships.

    Integral to this mission, the Research Contract Analyst is responsible for the review and processing of a variety of contractual agreements critical to facilitating collaborations with our external partners.


    Reporting to the Senior Director of Industry Contracts, the Contract Analyst will assist in the processing a high volume of transactional agreements for Boston University's faculty and researchers to have the necessary information, materials and data to perform their research.

    This position will be responsible for reviewing the terms and conditions of Confidential Disclosure Agreements, Material Transfer Agreements, Data Use Agreements and a variety of other research-related contracts.

    To ensure compliance and efficient operations, the Contract Analyst will liaise and collaborate with a variety of stakeholders including Office of the General Counsel, Office of Technology Development, Sponsored Programs, faculty, administrators and external partners.

    The Contracts Analyst will have the opportunity to contribute to the development and implementation of internal process improvements, strategies and data analytics to further the reach and impact of the Industry Engagement enterprise.

    Required Skills
    Required bachelor's degree and 5 years' experience; previous contracting experience in an academic setting preferred.
