- Ensure effective management of all medical strategic and field leadership roles, scientific liaisons/advisors, and medical operations.
- Lead interactions with the Global Medical Affairs group, ensuring alignment with other global functions for excellence in medical affairs, resource allocation, and talent management.
- Represent UCB's medical and scientific interests in internal and external forums, engaging with national and international thought leaders.
- Ensure compliance with country-specific and international regulations in medical, regulatory, and pharmacovigilance functions.
- Present medical communications accurately and persuasively, reflecting efficient resource utilization.
- Maintain and drive medical and scientific excellence standards in the US region through personal involvement and development of associates.
- Liaise with key thought leaders, regulatory bodies/agencies, and pharmaceutical industry bodies externally.
- Ensure compliance with local and international regulations for all medical promotional activities.
- Support the Global Pharmacovigilance function to fully comply with Adverse Event Reporting regulations.
- Collaborating with colleagues to maintain and elevate the standards of medical and scientific excellence in the US region. This includes actively participating in recruitment, training, deployment, and development initiatives for associates.
- Engaging with key thought leaders, regulatory bodies/agencies, and national pharmaceutical industry bodies externally to foster partnerships and ensure compliance with local and international regulations pertaining to promotional materials and activities, particularly in the medical domain. Additionally, you will support the Global Pharmacovigilance function in ensuring full compliance with Adverse Event Reporting regulations on both local and international levels.
- Doctoral Degree (M.D., Ph.
- Minimum 10 years of medical affairs experience in biopharmaceuticals
- Minimum 5 years of management experience with a proven track record of leading high-performing teams
- MBA or other business/operations training or certificate programs
- Clinical or research experience in Neurology
- Experience in a multi-cultural setting
- Ability to work effectively in a matrixed environment with excellent interpersonal skills

In this pivotal position, you will be at the helm of our medical department, offering guidance, mentorship, and strategic oversight.
As the Head of US Medical, Epilepsy & Rare Syndromes, you'll play a crucial role in crafting and executing the US medical strategy in close coordination with the leadership team dedicated to advancing epilepsy treatment.
