The Infrastructure and Transformation (I&T) Engineering team has an immediate professional opening for a Platform Engineer. The individual is responsible for providing the design, development, and implementation of a predominantly cloud based compute/network/storage infrastructure, as well as support improving the program platform's over-arching design through new emerging technologies and use of DevOps/DevSecOps tools and automation primarily in the O/S, COTS stack. This includes existing operating systems and existing server hardware designs, as well as supporting the design and development to enhance the current Cloud based designs and architectures.

Specialized skills required for this position:
• Experience with infrastructure service architecture and detailed design.
• Experience with development and review of detailed infrastructure design artifacts.
• Experience working in an Agile/DevOps environment.
Required Skills:
• Experience with RedHat Linux and VMware.
• Experience with Cloud based technologies, preferably Amazon Web Services (AWS)/ Commercial Cloud Services (C2S).
• Experience providing technical direction to a diverse team of Engineers, and System Administrators for all aspects of the system infrastructure design and implementation activities.
• Ability to work with peer leaders on priorities and sharing resources.
• Strong communicator able to provide clear and succinct directions.
• Competency to effectively represent program in customer meetings and reviews.
• Must meet DoD 8570 IAT level II requirements (Security + CE or equivalent)
Desired Skills:
• Experience with automation tools/frameworks such as: Ansible, Chef, and/or Terraform.
• Experience with containerization.
• Knowledge and familiarity with Atlassian tool suite, specifically: Jira and Confluence.
• Knowledge and familiarity with Git/Jenkins.
• Technical and/or project management certifications.
• Cost/schedule development and reporting experience.
• Experience in proposal support.
Preferred Education:
Typically requires a BS/BA degree and 8 years of related work experience; Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) degree preferred.
