    The College of Computing was established in 1990 as the first such College at a public university and the second in the United States. Since that time, the college has grown into a world-class leader in research and education. The graduate CS program is currently ranked 6th and the undergraduate 5th nationally by U.S. News and World Report. The College consists of five Schools that provide specialized and general computing education to the entire campus. With over 16-degree programs, including its world-renowned online MS in CS, we believe the College to be the largest Computing unit in the United States and, as such, one of the largest producers of computationalist at all levels and of all demographic backgrounds. The College is a part of the Georgia Institute of Technology, a unit of the University System of Georgia and is primarily located in the heart of Atlanta, Georgia.

    Job Summary

    Provide information and counsel to undergraduate and graduate students within an assigned area regarding their academic pursuits and progress. Prepare and maintain associated student records. Usually concentrate in graduate programs or specialized academic area. May provide work direction to Academic Advisor Is and administrative support staff. This position will interact on a consistent basis with: students, parents and faculty, staff. This position typically will advise and counsel: students. This position will supervise: NA.

    Responsibilities

    Job Duty 1 -
    Meet with students concerning questions and issues regarding various aspects of their academic program. May include questions regarding academic program requirements, registration, permits, overloads, degree petitions, change of major, commencement, curriculum, academic progress, and Institute policy

    Job Duty 2 -
    Perform reference searches and records access in conjunction with student inquiries.

    Job Duty 3 -
    Respond to academic administration and faculty requests for assistance in administrative, recruitment or student related matters.

    Job Duty 4 -
    Prepare assessment reports; maintain student related records, files and databases;

    Job Duty 5 -
    Review, approve and process curriculum related actions.

    Job Duty 6 -
    Interact with other academic units in conjunction with joint programs

    Job Duty 7 -
    May schedule and coordinate student events.

    Job Duty 8 -
    May provide input to academic unit's planning efforts.

    Job Duty 9 -
    Perform other duties as assigned

    Responsibilities

    This hybrid position will be responsible for:

    • Supporting undergraduate and graduate students during registration processes such as providing permits for courses.
    • Advising students on curriculum requirements for BSCS and MSCS programs.
    • Approve and document Internship requests for graduate students.
    • Perform degree audits for BSCS and MSCS students graduating from the program.
    Required Qualifications

    Educational Requirements
    Bachelor's Degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience

    Other Required Qualifications
    Overnight travel requdvisored for project delivery; flexibility in on-site daily service delivery hours (due to client shift schedules, project requdvisorements).

    Required Experience
    Four to five years of job related experience

    Preferred Qualifications

    Additional Preferred Qualifications
    Preferred knowledge and skills include ability to effectively interact with individuals from diverse cultures and use of specialized computer applications

    Preferred Educational Qualifications
    Master's Degree

    Preferred Qualifications

    Bachelor's Degree in Academic Affairs, Business Management, Education or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience with four (4) to five (5) years of job-related experience preferred.

    This job requires advanced knowledge and skills related to:

      Educational program management and administration; Supervision;Customer service;Oral and written communications; Organization; Multi- tasking; Maintaining accounting records;Use of basic and specialized computer applications.

    Previous experience with Banner, DegreeWorks, advising graduate students preferred.

    SKILLS
    This job requires knowledge of advanced university level academic program requirements and related administrative processes within assigned area. Also required are verbal, written and interpersonal communications skills and basic computer skills.
