**Description**
The Transportation Manager is responsible for leading and controlling activities of branch CDL Class A Drivers assigned to the Transportation Department. This position will insure full compliance with all DOT rules and regulations, as well as manage variety of delivery activities in an accurate, efficient and cost-effective manner. The successful candidate will manage his/her own staff, as well as interface with other departments.
***Responsibilities:***
Assist with the development and execution of fleet safety and sustainability objectives
Ensures that safety technology tools are used, results are examined, trend data is analyzed and plans are developed to reduce and prevent safety incidents
Ensures and promotes a consistent driver safety culture throughout the organization
Develop and execute a fuel conservation plan to reduce fuel usage and improve overall MPG
Conduct periodic location inspections regarding DOT records and all transportation compliance procedures. Conduct reviews to ensure that compliance systems are being used and effective
***Requirements:***
Bachelors Degree in Transportation
Minimum of 3 to 5 years' related experience in transportation
Must possess working knowledge of the following: DOT regulations, Transportation Safety practices, Accident investigation and prevention, FMCSA, and CSA 2010
Proficient in MS Office products
High organizational and Information management skills
Leadership and change management training is a plus
Proven leadership results
Commercial motor vehicle driving experience a plus
Experience building and executing strategic plans
Ability to work in teams of an extended enterprise
Sustainability experience (fuel usage reduction) is a plus
