    About the Role:
    As a


    Tax Manager , you'll be at the forefront of our financial strategy, optimizing tax efficiency, and ensuring compliance with all Federal, State, local, and foreign reporting requirements.

    This includes tax related activities for entities operating in both the United States and Canada, making experience with Canadian federal and provincial tax highly preferred.


    Key Responsibilities:

    Tax Compliance Management:


    Oversee the preparation and timely filing of Federal, State, local, and international tax reports and returns, ensuring accuracy and compliance with all relevant regulations.


    Vendor Oversight:


    Manage relationships with third-party service firms to ensure the delivery of accurate and complete information for tax filings, including payroll, income, and sales/use taxes.


    Regulatory Compliance:


    Ensure compliance with all applicable tax laws and regulations, including Canadian Federal and Provincial tax laws, and establish proper tax accounts in relevant jurisdictions.


    Issue Resolution:


    Research and resolve any tax notices or inquiries from tax authorities, collaborating with state/provincial tax auditors as needed to address findings and estimate tax liabilities.


    Tax Advisory Services:


    Serve as a trusted advisor to management on tax matters, providing insights into the tax implications of financial and operational decisions.


    Risk Management:
    Identify potential tax risks and develop proactive solutions to mitigate exposure and ensure compliance with tax regulations.

    Legislative Updates:


    Stay informed of developments in tax legislation that may impact the business, advising management on necessary adjustments to tax strategies and practices.


    License Maintenance:
    Facilitate the renewal of sales tax licenses and other required permits and certificates, ensuring ongoing compliance with regulatory requirements.

    Problem-Solving:
    Effectively address practical problems with minimal supervision, adapting to situations where standardization may be limited.

    Internal Controls:
    Establish and maintain internal controls and procedures to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with tax regulations.

    Audit Support:
    Assist in financial statement audits and participate in various special projects as needed, providing expertise in tax-related matters.

    About the Role:

    Qualifications:

    Education:
    Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required. Master's degree in Accounting, MBA or CMA preferred.

    Experience:
    Minimum of 5+ years of progressive experience in tax accounting, with a focus on compliance and planning.

    Manufacturing, Engineering or Commercial Industrial industry experience preferred.

    Certificates & Licenses:
    CPA or progress towards CPA certification preferred.


    Requirements:
    Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations.
    Experience with Federal and multi-state and local tax (i.e., franchise tax, sales and use tax, etc.) is required
    Experience with Canadian Federal and Provincial tax is strongly preferred
    Experience with tax software and financial reporting systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, etc.).
    Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
    Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite with advanced skills in Microsoft Excel (i.e., advanced functions, pivot tables, etc.)
    Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
    Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments
