    Job Type Full-timeDescriptionThe Small Business Banking Relationship Manager develops and cultivates small business and consumer market share by locating, prospecting and securing client relationships.

    The Small Business Relationship Manager collaborates with multiple departments to identify and provide solutions to clients' problems and needs. Forges strong relationships with clients to create future advocates and sources of referrals.


    Essential Responsibilities:

    Develops a strategic market area business plan focused on increasing revenue, identifying areas for cross-serve, and building a reputation for being a trusted resource for small businessesIdentifies prospective clients through research, outreach, and community involvementAids clients in self-discovery on needs and solutions to help them meet their financial goals and aspirationsStrengthens relationships through utilization of Relationship Management Action Plans (RMAP's) to assess clients current status and future growth needsWorks directly with the branch managers-small business specialists in the achievement of their goals and targets, and development of their small business lending portfoliosCollaborates across multiple departments to develop loan and deposit portfolios with the cross-sales of additional products and services to meet the financial needs and wants of the clients they serveContinually builds and fosters the relationships with strategic contact via a communication plan to deliver on outcomes and ensure client satisfactionResponds quickly and positively to clients outreach and concerns.

    Identifies the appropriate subject matter expert(s) to bring into the conversation to help meet clients' growing needsAdvocates goodwill and corporate citizenship by attending local events to network and engage with community leaders and community at large.

    Participates in after-hour bank and Cape Cod community activities as neededExecutes and supports the Bank's overall strategic plan and prioritiesPerforms all duties in accordance with prescribed compliance guidelinesTakes personal initiative and discipline in interactions and provides the examples for others to follow RequirementsCompetencies Professionalism - demonstrates a consistent professional demeanor and appearanceTenacity - understands the nature of sales and the need to accept rejection and move on Communication Skills - well versed in presentations and public speaking.

    Uses consultative approach and knows the art and science of asking questionsOrganization - demonstrates strong organizational skills to multi-task with efficiency and work independentlyDisciplined - knows how to work a pipeline to maintain a strong workflow and stay activeExcellence in Service - understands how their personal brand ties closely with the organization and builds a strong and positive reputation in the community Supervisory Scope Works with influence to help educate the branch managers in their loan origination skills and understandingQualifications Education and/or ExperienceBS/BSA degree level of education or its equivalent in retail banking experience, including related work and trainingFive plus years of retail and sales experience with an emphasis in consultative sales and excellence in serviceKnowledge of and experience with commercial credit underwriting Experience as a small business relationship manager or lender preferredProficiency with MS Office and banking related softwareAbility to maintain confidentiality; with tact and diplomacy Physical Requirements Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds on an occasional basisA degree of travel is required to cover an assigned territory.

    Must have a reliable means of transportation.
