    Private Client Claims Coordinator - Norfolk, United States - Towne Family of Companies

    Primary Purpose:

    This position is responsible for filing the first notice of loss of Private Clients and reporting them to the appropriate insurance carrier promptly and accurately. This position serves as a liaison between the Private Client and the insurance carrier throughout the claim process, ensuring the claim continues to move toward closure as efficiently as possible while maintaining high-tough member engagement.

    Essential Responsibilities:
    • Provide exceptional customer service to our Private Client members.
    • Take new loss reports from Private Client members and promptly and accurately report them to the appropriate carrier.
    • Promptly transmit all information/documents to insurance carriers and Private Clients.
    • Obtain the claim number and adjuster information and quickly relay those details to the Private Client.
    • Utilize agency management system (EPIC) to document claim files and maintain control of work through EPIC's diary system, keeping accurate records of Private Client and insurance carrier interactions.
    • Keep Private Client Risk Advisors/Account Managers abreast of new claims, large losses, and claim settlements, especially if it requires removing the property from the policy, such as a totaled car or lost jewelry.
    • Monitor and push for claim settlement and update EPIC with claim payments and reserves.
    • Handle incoming claim calls from insureds, claimants, and carriers.
    • Manage incoming claim mail.
    • Research coverage and coordinate coverage discussions.
    • Track not-at-fault claims to ensure they are subrogated, and funds are recovered, including reimbursing the insured's deductible.
    • Other duties as required by management.
    • Obeys all applicable federal laws, rules, and regulations relating to Anti-Money Laundering (AML), including the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA)
    Minimum Required Skills & Competencies:
    • Prior experience filing claims, maintaining a diary system, and managing claim mail.
    • Working knowledge/proficiency with insurance carrier websites.
    • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, PPT, and Excel.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    Desired Skills & Competencies:
    • Two years experience as a Personal Lines Claims Adjuster.
    • Property and Casualty insurance designation(s).
    • Property and Casualty License or ability to obtain it in days.
    Physical Requirements:
    • Express or exchange ideas by means of the spoken word via email and verbally.
    • Exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, use your arms and legs, and sit most of the time.
    • Have close visual acuity to perform activities such as analyzing data, viewing a computer terminal, reading, and preparing documentation.
    • Not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions.
