    Job Description SummaryIn this role you will be a member of the Quality Development Team as part of the larger Edison Works (EW) Engineering Delivery Team.

    The goal of the Quality Development Team is work with the EW production quality team, design engineering, and suppliers to proactively develop efficient methodologies to produce conforming hardware in support of production scale-up.

    You will be responsible for providing quality management system (QMS) expertise to engineering design teams, developing contemporary methods of assuring part quality, assisting with nonconformance reduction, and leading adoption of Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP).Job DescriptionRoles and ResponsibilitiesImplements APQP across military design organizations to improve production and delivery turnaround of engine hardware.

    Interprets simple internal and external business challenges and recommends best practices to improve design producibility. Stays informed of industry trends that may inform work.

    Uses high level of judgment to make decisions and handle complex tasks or problems in areas of design quality engineering.

    Has ability to assess quality of information given and ask pertinent questions to stakeholders. Able to offer new solutions to problems outside of set parameters and is able to construct and provide recommendations. Uses multiple internal and some external sources outside of own function to help arrive at a decision.
    Leads functional teams or projects with minimal resource requirements, risk, and/or complexity. Communicates difficult concepts and may influence others' options on particular topics. May guide others to consider a different point of view.
    Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience.

    Required QualificationsBachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited university or collegeDemonstrated experience in Advanced Product Quality Planning and knowledge of AAQSC-issued standard AS 9145.Minimum of 5 years of experience in Design or Quality EngineeringAbility to obtain and maintain US DoD SECRET clearanceDesired CharacteristicsMaster's degree in engineering from an accredited college or university8 years experience in Design and Quality EngineeringExisting DOD Security ClearanceDemonstrated knowledge of model-based enterprise (MBE) and model-based definition (MBD)Demonstrated experience using Lean Methodologies with a Continuous Improvement MindsetFamiliarity with Teamcenter, Siemens NX, non-conformance dispositionExperience in the design and manufacture of complex, precise aerospace parts.

    Strong oral and written communication skills.
    Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
    Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems.
    Demonstrated ability to lead programs / projects.
    Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs.
